Is the 6mm BR my next gun?

I’ve been hearing a lot about the 6mm BR and very intrigued with what people are saying. Are people purchasing a factory gun, having a smith build a custom or building their own? Not sure how to start or where to look.

I have the 3-6mm now and in the past. 6 BR ,6 Dasher and 6 GT.

The 6 BR is a Dream. I have a 1-8 now because I shoot out to 600 yards.
It also doubles as Varmint Hunter.
Get a Remington 700 foot Print Action and a HS Stock and a good Barrel Man.

Up Date Note : I did the Mag Box a follower Modification and it will feed from the Box.
Not that easy but can be done..........

If you are shooting paper, get a custom job, With correct loading a good barrel will last. You could save some cash, if your budget is tight, with a used Savage 12 action in any 308 sized bolt face and a prefit barrel.
I have one waiting - currently in 6.5 Creed with an HS stock, that will be a varminter one day. It cost far less than a third of the new rifle for the donor. I did have a barrel - until a 40x single shot showed up that needed it. The Savage will likley become a 6BRX or BRA., while the Remington will be a 6BR. My other BR is on a Barnard SMS action in a GRS stock and an 8tw True-Flite barrel. Absolute hammer with Sierra 107s.and Varget.

I love the 6BR and will always have at least one in my collection. Built my first custom rifle with a Zermatt TL3 action and a Shilen pre-fit 6BR 1-12 twist barrel. It shot small groups from Day 1. I eventually started shooting a local F-Class league with it and then went to a 1-8 twist barrel and heavier bullets. It's pretty easy to load and tune.

Had one and sold it back to the original owner. I really liked it. Straight 6BR in 8 twist.

Someday I would build another. I would prefer a single shot bolt gun with coned breach and a heavy barrel, but that is justlike every other rifle I have! I think the 6BR is the easy button for good shooting.

I put one together several years back. Remington 700 action. Criterion barrel and a hs precision stock. Threw a load together and never looked back. Did not even have to do load work up. This was the first load i tried. Its a 5 shot group and as long as i hold still this is how it shoots.
