3 way trimmer design for your power tool

Anyone here tried making one yet. If so could yo0u help with the details and any updates you would have done. Also the cutters you used. At 5 to 7 hundred dollars and having a lathe and mill in the garage I have more time than money. Plus the satisfaction of having built my own.

Just get a forester, Henderson, Giraud etc

And put it in your drill press?

I've been pondering the same thing. I want to be able to trim and chamfer on a 650 or 1050 with case feeder.

Dillon trimmer doesn't chamfer and Henderson cutter, @ 3/4 OD, is too big to be adapted to a standard sized Dillon trim die.

I think if I make a 221 trim die out of 11/4 die the Henderson cutter can be adapted to work with a router.

If no 11/4.dies available maybe just a roughing reamer and a barrel stub. I doubt it would need to be heat treated since it only needs to keep the case from spinning.

I made a 221 FB trim die from a Lee die so I know that part is possible.

It's a project for the near future.

Another choice would be a 21st Century adjustable 3 way trim cutter head and then a cutter mandrel in the calibers you need. I have seen guys put the cutter head in their lathe. Like putting a neck turning head in the lathe. On this head the outside chamfer cutter is micro adjustable and the inside chamfer and length cutter is pre set on the mandrel. It would make caliber changes a bit quicker I think. Thy make a quick release case holder you can probably use also. Just another option.
