In the mountains a short wheel base bounces you to death. I had a tahoe, hated it for that reason. Would make you sick if on rough terrain.

The smaller the better!I'm very used to the reliability of the toyota tacoma , but it's kind of big these days for a hunting truck , so i'm thinking of getting a jeep.... 2020+ for off road hunting vehicle or shooting at more remote thousand yard ranges.
The hard top seems to have enough room for rifles and gear for at least me if not one more person.
Any advice, as far as reliability or suitability for an off-road hunting/shooting vehicle ?
If you have one , how have you equipped it for those purposes ?

Wife had a 2011, four door with hard and soft tops. We kept the hard top on it mostly. It was a lot quieter.I don't like the canvas roof and sides, they make so much noise I have a headache whenever we get to destination. Don't recall ever riding in a hardtop, are they as loud and uncomfortable as the soft top?

Older Tacoma vs newer ones is like comparing night and day

She liked it but it was way under powered as far as I was concerned.

Recently my son and I hunted the same mountain and fields with his Jeep limited edition Call Of Duty. It’s still running with about 150,000 miles on it. Never needed many repairs but the top leaked and even the hard top near the front. He plans to keep it for the time being. View attachment 1733852
I believe it’s a 2012. This photo of one of our trips to the Broad Mountain in Carbon County, Pa. was taken two years ago. What year ?
