Do it yourself Stock making thread

If you just do the epoxy, it can be sanded and filled with new epoxy. Then you can sand it flush and polish it out. I find that a thick epoxy finish done in the rotisserie comes out high gloss and needs nothing further.
Total Boat epoxy had some issues of yellowing over time. On most wood stocks, that isn’t a big deal. It just blends in. On bright colors, it might be a problem.
thanks josh

Research. I spend a lot of time doing research on the products I use. The “yellowing” complaint came from folks using it on countertops. They weren’t using a UV protection on top, nor was it recommended at the time. I’ve used it on a few stocks and haven’t noticed it but they spend most of their time in the safe. Just sharing what I know.

A painter that quite drinking????? I didn't know it was possible. I lost a really good friend that was a painter and body man. He had a TR4 with a 327 chevy in it, and we could spin donuts in it till I couldn't stand up I was so dizzy. We were driving down the beach road in Boynton Beach so fast the windshield wipers started working by them selves. I miss the "Hippy" a lot.

Here’s an update on the epoxy “color change” subject. Here are my jugs of three year old Stone Coat epoxy. The hardener was clear and now it’s yellowed.
