Präzipress vs. Area 419 Turret Press

Its OK to want nice things. But want it for realistic reasons. You did make a statement, do you care to provide data?
Nope, way too much trouble, i have work to do on the lathe that in fact does mattermore.
The fine differences in the end may not matter for absolute accuracy vs all else.
However, eliminating variables and making the very finest ammunition product is a huge confidence builder epsecpsailly for the newer shooters.
The option to use the larger dies is a great option. Both the Warner dies and 419 dies are top rate. The Frosters are right there. Warner does do much these days.
Its more about eliminating variables and moving forward vs continual debates and micro testing.

You made the claims, and weren't too busy to make the opening post. You owe your fellow forum members your findings since you teased it.

Both these presses use large dies (and there are others), but what is the actual advantage you've been able to quantify? Inquiring minds want to know.

I bolded what is likely the most important part of the post. Its feelings. Have a good day!

Is generally more accurate and stable.
Easier to use.
Not as hunky gangly large, even the big Prazi is more compact.
Price vs quality and build is outstanding.
Takes the larger dia dies, 419, etc.

I need to do some bbls now, it all matters, some more than others, sooner or later, mostly later, it all matters.

certain ppl will go the extra mile to justify reloading using subpar tools
and that's fine with me, if you're happy with your performance have at it.
Your score could improve and groups might shrink if you use a quality tools, pay attention to minute details and eliminate variables, I know it definitely helped me shoot smaller targets and that is a fact not a theory.

What kind of barrels are you “doing”, on what kind of lathe?

Again, how is it more accurate and stable? Quantify it.

You realize the Zero also takes "the larger dies", right?

I like to offer food for thought.
Not give the answers that most like to just go do these days, not think through it.
Its kinda like the grilled cheese samich , russian rye cooked in bacon drippings i just ate. Sometimes ya just gotta try it.
I don't owe the greater shooting community anything.
I do help those i shoot with and like, even sometimes i don't like very much but they are really struggling.
We shoot year round out here, so i don't spend much time on these group hug forums, holidays allow a little more time wasting exercises.

the type everyone wants, perfect and exact, wonderful shooting, Brux blanks.
Commercial lathe, serious hobbyist only, i am not commercial.
Yes, i sspec and design my own reamers and have them made to spec.
That's all on that subject, anything else would be telling too much.

None of them will load any more accurate ammo than an RCBS or Redding. The dies are are in control regardless of what press they are in.
100% correct
Some presses are prettier. Some easy to use for some individuals. Some offer unique mounting alternatives.
Etc., etc.
None have anything to do with the accuracy of ammo produced.
I wrote this once not long ago. Someone replied there were many tests preformed showing this not to be true. I asked for just ONE of these tests to be posted or sent a link. Naturally nothing was done. Of course not. They are non-existent except in the writers mind.
Buy whatever press you like for whatever reason. Better accuracy? No . But I do like nice looking presses. A real Hollywood Gun Shop Senior press is not pretty but strong? There’s a beauty in that too.

Do you like tater tots?

Area51,

no you don't "owe" us anything. But, you could support the forum by buying a membership. Just sayin'...
I was a card carrying member for many years.
I no longer am, low ROI and i do not subscribe to any sites that are clearly monitored, recorded and analyzed full time.
Doh.

So for this Holiday yak yak, time is up, do carry on with your tater tots and ho ho's.
I had to think about what T tots are, we don't eat that sort of thing here at the Oasis. Assuming others eat that stuff.
Ill try to check in for the next set of holidays and provide something creative and interesting to get the "shooting community" engaged.
Carry on ,,,,,

Can’t wait for the next holiday update from the oasis. I’m sure it’ll be a Christmas miracle. Full of cryptic condescending insight mixed with elitist sarcasm. I’ll have my Russian rye ready.
