Priming, priming, priming

said as a tribute to The Brady Bunch. So, it's always talk of priming but what about de-priming. Anyone using the Frankford Arsenal hand de-primer? I will be using the Lee Hand Press, not a bench mounted press.

No I’m not a Frankford fan but I imagine it works ok. I use a dedicated depriming press and die. I like the little Lee hand press but the problem using them for depriming is you have to remember to empty them quite often as they can’t fall through.

I purchased the F1 press from Franky and I was very disappointed it has set screws in the linkage and they all worked loose, so I went back to my RC which is smooth as silk and reliable, not as much room but no worries either, I would almost give this press away it's junk..deprime with my fl sizing die less operations less to forget to do

FYI, MidSouth has this hand departing tool. Looks like it would be handy to deprive with.

The Mighty Armory PUA die is pretty nice if you have an extra press to o leave it set up in.

I have one and use it religiously. I actually have a video up on YouTube of my Grandson using it and explaining how it works. I think he's 6 or 7 in the clip. I'll dog up the link tomorrow.

Works good I've deprimed thousands of rifle and thousands more pistol cases with mine. It gives the hands a little work out but I try to knock out as many as I can in one setting.

It can be a pain if the clear primer catcher doesn't go in all the way and then drop out as your depriming causing all the spent primers and left over residue onto the carpet (in my case, probably 3 times maybe, it's always been because I've been in a hurry to dump and restart again so totally my fault!)

I would buy it again, I often deprime while watching TV and can knock out quite a bit before an episode of the chosen goes off.

My die doesn't have a decapper pin so I use the FA to pop the primers before I anneal and wash. Its easy and works great.

I saw that one but I could envision an escapee now and then when it isn't pointed quite at the collection container for the spent primers. The FA has the container attached which seemed a bit better. And a less expensive option.

For those whose mind reading skills are rusty can you expand and put F5 from Franky into the formal name and model number and even a link to what you are talking about?

F1 Frankford arsenal press..it is a pc of chit. I had it 6 months and it basically fell apart...I love the design angled, easy on the full length size but set screws came loose where it should have snap rings..then they would not even send me set screws to replace the ones I lost., so I had to go buy my own thought about taking a cutting torch to it then mail it to them pc of shit F1... if anybody has one tighten the set screws then epoxy them in place

No whining here, I love the things. One set up for .223 cases and the other .308. They have worked wonderfully with many thousands of cases. I like using them because they let me know when primer pockets are getting big and it time to survey that case. Whatta Hobby!

The Harvey is a sturdy all metal decapper. Work great.
I am staying away from plastic and pot metal tools.

Depending on what I'm going to do I either de-prime and load using the Dillon 550. This is mostly handgun brass.
Sometimes if I'm going to do primer pockets or clean primer pockets, I will set the Dillon up with a Lyman decapping die and cycle the brass through.

Rifle brass gets deprimed in the usual manner, or if necessary, with the Lyman decapping die.

I used that Lyman Universal Decapping Die for years and only broke the stem because for some "donkey headed" moment I put it the wrong place on the Dillon press.

Yeh, the Redding Die I use in my 30BR decaps, full length sizes, and bumps the shoulder.
And it’s not Blue Tooth Compatible

I prefer to do it in an extra step to keep the crud out of my good press.
I chose to use a Lee Universal decapping die in a Lee press.
