USPS -- Slow Deliveries

Well USPS found the problem.
I called the DeMoines PO where my pkg was stalled. They found that the folks in NY put my pkg in the wrong container, headed to DeMoines. Once there, DeMoines sat on it for 3 days before sending it to Montgomery Al. It's supposed to be out for delivery today (Saturday)
That's 11 days.

Yep…. Dropped a USPS PRIORITY Medium box on 11-13-2025 it took 4 DAYS to the distribution center 30 miles away!!

Had the same experience on some packages movinf through the network. This time, its different, seller dropped the package Wednesday afternoon (Seattle) and delivered Friday morning (Cleveland).

USPS has gone to pot. 1) The credit card company mailed my new CC on August 3. Current location unknown. 2) My wife mailed a check in sept, to pay a credit card bill. Mailed from a St. Louis suburb to a St. Louis city PO Box, 20 miles away. Six weeks in transit and a $120 overdue charge. 3) My last Midway order shipped from Columbia, MO. It went to Chicago , then St. Louis distribution center, to Ballwin, Mo. PO , then to my house. That only took 5 days.

I got a letter yesterday mailed from 1/2 mile down the road on Oct.26th. 25 or 26 days is ~outstanding~ service now that 1st class postage is at $0.78, hidden by forever stamps & the books they come in having no $$ amount visible. Is there a ~sarcasm~ font?

The last package I got was delivered by fedx. Looked like it had come from the sahara desert . Had about a quarter inch of dust on it. Wife had to sweep the floor where we set it down. Ive got them from ups like that to. Doug

I live 40 miles north of Kansas City, placed an order with Midway 11/11, it was picked up 11/12.
It went to St. Louis, then to Kenosha, WI, then Oak Creek, WI, finally to KC on 11/15, so it made good time.
It stalled 3 days in KC till 11/18, now tracking only say *in transit, will be later than expected*.
No kidding. I had that figured out when it didn't arrive Monday like they said it would.
I could drive to Colombia, MO in a few hours, but I wouldn't go through Wisconsin and St. Louis either.

My brass from Midway finally arrived today. There was a note shrink wrapped to the box that said “we sincerely regret the damage to your mail during handling…”
The only damage I could find was some paint(ink?) splashed on the outside of the box. The box was intact, not messed up, crushed, cut, etc. in any way and all the cases look good.
Tracking said it was picked up 11/12, but the time stamp on the box read 11/11/2025 @ 11:04.53 meaning it took this package 11 days, 5 hours and 15 minutes to hit my mailbox, that, according to maps on my phone, is a 2 hour 37 minute trip.
Hardly the picture of efficiency.

Sounds like the loss of $3000 in insurance payments in early 2024 that had me within days of getting my policies cancelled for lack of payment.

I ordered a trigger from N.D. They sent it USPS. Here are the tracking details and I still don't have the trigger. USPS sent it 769 miles the wrong way. It's only 519 to me from there. And USPS took out our reginal Dist. center here. And they wonder why they are struggling.

By the way it still has 180 miles to go. It made it 683 mile overnight to Cheyenne.

Compound with the fact that majority of people on this forum want the ol' archaic check which takes longer to send, exposes the buyer's bank info and the wait time to send and the check to clear is not with the times. There is absolutely no upside to use checks but here we are.

Want an item and seller wants a check? Expect the package much much later than if buyer were to use ANY electronic instrument to pay the seller.

Usps does suck but, they haven't lost anything in 11 years of shipping gun stuff for me. We switched to ups less than a year ago because it's half the cost. They already lost a barrel which I ate. I chock that up to bad luck but I hope it doesn't continue

About a couple months ago I sent a Whidden reloading die to Arizona by UPS it never made it, the box was cut open and die was taken out and box was taped back up.
I filed a claim with UPS they wanted a phone number to the recipient never even call him after awhile I called to find out what was going on they told me inspector went to residence were it was delivered and determined it was improper packaged i asked did you talk to the person who got the package nope!!!
WTH they all suck lol its a crap shoot.

Just recieved this gun stock mailed April 8 th. I’m going to talke it down to post office to open on Monday.
