Beware 0f Grizzly attacks

Certainly seem to be a lot more in BC and AB this year, probably 6-8 that I'm aware of this year. There agin too, with them not being hunted, there are just more bears too, along with a bunch of people not paying attention to warnings and their surroundings. I expect there are likely more bears seeing people, and not bothering with them, than people seeing bears too.

Same applies to snakes and sharks… Lots more out there that you don’t see…
I don’t recall who it is on the forum but they have used the tag

Aside from that, I have encountered a few Black bears in my yard, out in the woods etc,
But I can say in comparison... I am SOOO GLAD there is no longer California Grizzly's

You need another person to:
Tell the authorities where your body was last seen.
“Distract” the bear so you can tell the authorities where their body was last seen.
Young guys think they’re indestructible and can outrun a grizzly bear. Old guys know better.
Old guys have a hard time finding someone that runs slower than they do.

In June a guy shot and killed one off his front porch in the Bears Paws.

Sorry I don't have pix, but I've had 2 griz (or the same one twice) on my front porch. Makes my AR 450 Bushmaster feel real small. Until my wife can shoot a heavy lever gun, that is what we use when we let the dogs out before and after daylight.

We hunt north of Dubois, WY and there are always bears in the area. They love hunting season. I’ve never been charged but two friends were charged in the ‘23 season and another friend that lives in that area has been charged five times over 40+ years.
I pack a 10mm auto pistol. Just having your rifle is not enough, you need a sidearm on your person.

I'm a child of the 70's and remember it well. It didn't have quite the same connotations over here though as the last bears in England died out about 1,500 years ago! The ice cream vans did play the tune though, but apparently they only play that music when they've run out of ice cream
