My old Remington 722 in .222 came alive with H4895 powder besting all others. I hope you have a stash of it on hand.

Since your post is more than a year old, have you had time to put more mileage on the Starline and Norma brass to see if one is ageing better than the other? Does the Norma have a large flash hole?Forever, Ive used a few brands, only one I didn’t get along with was Herters. Lapua is my favorite for sure but I also have Starline, Norma, Remington, Winchester and PPU, some of that brass has been with me for a couple decades and has 20+ firings on it. I don’t redline my 222s, I’m usually one node under the top node, brass lasts a long time. The Lapua brass is nice but Norma and Starline aren’t far behind.
Pray tell..what bullet are you using with it?My old Remington 722 in .222 came alive with H4895 powder besting all others. I hope you have a stash of it on hand.

On a windy day the 222 can't compete against the 6BR. Norma makes great 222 brass better than Lapua in my opinion. Just recently put together a new 222 with a 9 Twist. Amazing with 60-64 grain bullets!I thought about this as well. Does Lapua even make 222rem brass anymore?
I’ve been using the Starline for my 20-222 but I only have 300+ firings on 50 pieces. Zero issues though. I’ve used Norma for years, it was my favorite brass until I tried Lapua but the Norma has been great. I have a few 222s, the ones that have most round count have mostly been Norma with zero issues.Since your post is more than a year old, have you had time to put more mileage on the Starline and Norma brass to see if one is ageing better than the other? I've shot a lot of PD's with 40 V-Max or BK's and 24.5 gr. IMR 8208 in 2 different .222 rifles. About 3450 out of 26" bbl. and groups in the 3's, sometimes better. Not a hot load either. Powder measures very well being a short small diameter stick type.Pray tell..what bullet are you using with it?
I’m just starting with a new to me old 700 in 222. I tested with 40 grain Nosler Blitzkings and IMR4198. I got a bunch of 1” groups so I tried some 55 grain Barnes Matchburners with H335. A little better, maybe. Still looking for that magic combo.

Make 222 from 223 Lapoa brass . No big deal .I thought about this as well. Does Lapua even make 222rem brass anymore?
???
My first thought was satire but i don't know maybe sarcasm???When you're sitting on your hands, waiting for him to lower his price, how is someone else buying it "sold out from under me"?
Not trying to stir the pot but I don’t think either. I think he was just making a statement. Sold out from underneath would be,…. You and the guy had a deal and he sold it to someone else. You procrastinated and someone else bought it. I see that all the time on here, people crying the blues they need 6br brass or whatever and it comes available and there to cheap to cough up the doe then cry they can’t find any???….when I see hard to get stuff advertise when it still says posted a moment ago which means under 60 seconds I quickly type I’ll take it!… Also the 22 Waldog I’m sure was extremely accurate as it’s just a shortened 22ppc but I don’t seem to see them in hall of fame records. My first thought was satire but i don't know maybe sarcasm???
Thanks. Just snagged some Norma 222 brass.I’ve been using the Starline for my 20-222 but I only have 300+ firings on 50 pieces. Zero issues though. I should note that I don’t push pressure with my 222s, if I want to really push a 22 caliber bullet I have other choices that do a better job. Some of my 222s shoot best on a higher node but that’s not where a typically load for. My Tikka Master Sporter likes it fast, that rifle is the most accurate factory offering I have of any caliber.
Good to know about the brass. I was never was impressed with Lapua 223. Just picked up some Norma 222.On a windy day the 222 can't compete against the 6BR.
