25x47 Lapua

Not 100 percent sure but I thought Randy Robinette has or has had something like this. Maybe reach out to him?
He does, he’s posted in the past about it. I believe he shot some competition with it and maybe a deer or two but I’m not positive. He usually chimes in when this chambering is mentioned. I’ve been using his 210gr in mine, excellent bullet. Hopefully he offers them again at some point in the future.

Varget is the powder my 6.5x47 likes, just ran a couple ladders in my 25x47 and it definitely likes H4350 better. I agree though, don’t over look varget in this case.
I found that my 30-06 also likes H4350 just a bit better than Varget behind a Sierra 165 Game King. A bit less vertical and a bit tighter groups.
I hope you all have plenty of powder of what ever sort of Hodgdon’s range as it is almost all made by ADI in Australia and with today’s announced tariffs it will only get more expensive…. The same goes for Lapua and Norma brass… {:~/

My first 24x47L barrel is all done and spun up, waiting to pick it up this friday and I'll be doing some load development soon.
Got a bunch of already necked/fireformed Lapua brass and I'll be shooting 135 hybrids for PRS. Gonna test Varget and H4350 to see if either groups better than the other (or meters better). Targeting 2700 fps, that seems to be the sweet spot for PRS bros.

You may want to consider some RL15.5 if you can get your hands on some.

Hello. Usually I just read the forums, but I am putting a rifle together for long range fun and would like to see more results on the 25 x 47L as that is what I'm building. Should have all the parts next week.
I have the Impact 737R and a stutesvillie m24 barrelspun on. Waiting for stock, trigger and rings.
Thanks to everyone for posting and sharing.

Will have my 25 X 47 up and running soon. Barreled action is coming this week and Bcz the paint wizard will be getting my stock as well this week. Plan to post all load data and results here asap.

Those of you running a .180" freebore in your 25x47 - what kind of jump are you using? About .075-.080" is as close as I can get and try to hold the bullet. Dropped a couple out trying to go .065". Nobody enjoys that - especially at a match.

Im not sure. They are partners with Impact precision shooting. Under products, 3rd line down has "Impact by Stutesvillie products". I looked when buying my action and they had the 26" M24 25 x 47 chambered and ready to go with 288 Neck Dia. and .180 Freebore. The barrel looks good and Im sure they want good barrels to help sell the actions. I jumpped in with both feet.

When I start load development I also start .005 thou off the lands. Almost every rifle I’ve loaded for will shoot here so for me it’s a good starting point.

I settled on a load for the 25x47 a while back and it shoots great. I noticed though once in a while I would get a group that just bothered me. The rifle seemed to be shooting mid to upper .2’s to upper .3’s pretty regularly at 100 through too 600 yards. Occasionally I’d get the .5-.6 moa group and those ranges as well with little to no change in wind.

I decided to do a seating depth test yesterday morning and it looked like I may have been floating right in between seating windows most likely causing this in consistency.

Please keep us posted as to the results.

I’ll most likely load .001-.002 thou into the lands, gives me room for error both directions and allows for some throat erosion giving me a larger window. I know it shoots at .005 thou with the occasional 1/2 moa group. I expect it to eliminate those random 1/2 moa groups and keep it in the .3’s if I do my part

Absolutely great info. Very limited info on this cartridge and seems as if lots of guys are either building it or considering it very carefully. Just obtained mine and getting ready to work up a load with the Sierra 131 gr. M K soon. First 5 shots on paper are very promising @ a tad less than 1/2" group @ 100 yds. minus the cold bore shot. Planning to add the info here on the thread as I develop the load.

Looks like the Sierra 131 gr. M K is gonna want 40.8 gr. of H-4350 @ 2900 FPS. Weather permitting I plan to get a seat depth check done this afternoon. Then on to the tuner test following this week. Will most likely re-visit testing a little bit once the barrel gets enough rounds on it to speed up. I'm not looking to need much if any changes but we will see. I am liking this thing right now.

EDIT: WARNING DO NOT LOAD THIS WITHOUT THE CORRECT REAMER.
