This is a day I've been really looking forward to. My Pre-64 Monte Carlo in the "McWoody" finished showed up today! Finally got all the pieces to drop off the barreled action and stock off with Shawn at North Ridge. He will be chambering this in 300 H&H.

Take it from a guy that rubs more wood than a $2 hooker in Tijuana...
That is the coolest looking woody I've ever seen.
 
That looks fantastic, can you share the details on your polishing
I forget the exact procedure I followed. I did a lot of google searches on how others have done it. If I remember it was starting with like 300grit, then 600, then 1000, then 2000. ALOT of elbow grease. I think I had a total of 7-8hours in it! My wrist probably still didn’t hurt as bad as BC’z rubbing all that wood though….
I do think though if I had it to do over again I would clear coat it. I feel it would give it even a deeper finish.

I really want another McWoody now that I see the OP’s stock. That design on his is very nice!
