Bore scope my barrel

Yes. Looks like carbon to me.
This is the 'lie' that the clean patches tell. It just means the patch ain't getting any more carbon out.

The only way I've been able to get carbon that remains after brushing/patching is with an abrasive.

I have brushed so much I'm afraid I'll brush the rifling out . This has just happened in the last 100 rounds . I bore scope after every cleaning .

Do you use a new brush every time? I always do.

But, carbon sure seems to stick harder in hot and humid weather. I’m sure that’s why there’s been a change. Use some JB on a patch and carry on.

Art, all good info so far IMO, and 'yes', it sure looks like carbon to me.

I also use JB, Flitz and Sweets when necessary, but another product that needs mentioning is Holland's Witches Brew. It's a mixture of carbon kill solvents in a carrier with a micro abrasive that really works when put on a bronze brush with a patch soaked in the stuff. Works like magic, been using it in my high volume rifles for years and has no ill effects on barrel steel.

Explain how you clean what solvents you use, otherwise we are guessing on how to help.

Well I did it !! cleaned on it all day and only got white patches out of it . So I just Flitz the barrel and supper black patches . I'll let it soak all night with Butch's bore shine clean it good in the morning and bore scope it again.
