Dilemma, How do you find out where all the ranges are?

I've been here since 2016 and people always say "come shoot with us at ...." well, guess what? I have no idea of where XXX range is, how do you find out? I shoot UBR and have 3 ranges with an hour and some few minutes, I live in central KY near Lexington so where is the closest IBS or NBRSA ranges? When do they shoot. Yes, I've gone to the websites and for someone that hasn't shot a particular discipline it doesn't make since.
Thanks for any help.

I was curious too...

So I googled shooting ranges near here and the local range showed up. Didn't even know they had a FB setting.

Agree that there is really no central register of all the ranges in various organizations. Freedom Benchrest is another place where you might check their website for close ranges.

One peeve I have is those that report results or promote shoots often don't even include where they are in those postings. Kind of like looking at pictures of shooting winners without a name layout for who they are.

@Shooter13 Hi Frankie.

Here’s a link to the ranges for NBRSA matches.

The closest to you is the Shelby county match in central Ohio.

Next closest might be the range in Chippewa Rifle Club in Hinckley, Ohio. You’re probably 6hrs or so from the BRRC of St Louis, one of the best benchrest facilities in the world. And probably around the same distance to Dublin, GA and Reidsville, NC. So a half days drive or less from at least 5 ranges.

The IBS website has a list of ranges on the home page, click on the word ranges, a map comes up , scroll down and there is a list of all the ranges with address . There is also a schedule of all matches for each discipline, group, score, 600yd and 1000yd. It's a pretty easy site to use, I think and I'm an old fart! ;)

Thank you, yes 1/2 day drive, overnight stay, shoot one day and 1/2 day drive home. Sounds about right as much as we love this sport!! I'll have to make some arrangements! I do want to shoot more this year.

Actually most of these matches are two day shoots. Saturday you shoot Light Varmint 100yds (5 5-shot groups) in the morning and Heavy Varmint 100yds in the afternoon. Sunday you shoot the classes in reverse order at 200yds. The 100+200yd combined aggregates for each class make up what’s called a grand aggregate, and the two grand aggregates (all four aggregates) combined are what’s referred to as a 2-Gun Grand Aggregate.

Most show up Thursday night or Friday to get setup (but not required). Flags for 100yds are set Friday late afternoon and for 200yds Saturday late afternoon.

Of course you can shoot one day only but like you say, the travel makes it less worthwhile. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a pm.
