NBRSA & IBS

NBRSA already has a significant number of score shooters among it's membership. It would be interesting if someone could somehow tabulate the number of members who shoot group, score, and long range. One of us would likely be surprised at the results.

Numbers of members who shoot IBS Score has nothing to do what the course of the NBRSA will be. There are also some NBRSA members that are IBS members only to get Precision Shooting. Score in NBRSA means Hunter and LR not VFS. Let this go to bed Ray.

I'm a lurker and don't know anything about BR. But, I've 34 years in shotgun sports.

In that realm, I've seen clubs wither to nothing and some even die over the skeet/trap/sporting clays "this is really a <insert sport here> club, if you want to shoot something else, go over to <insert other club 50 miles away here>" attitude.

I've come to the conclusion that it's hang together or hang separately.

Arguing by analogy is weak, so take it FWIW.

I can't let this go on that note. An NBRSA member is an NBRSA member regardless if he shoots in IBS score matches or not. It is exactly that attitude that needs to be changed. I would like to see the actual numbers of NBRSA members who shoot score matches,HBR, LR, VFS).

I don't think either of us will be around to see the downfall of NBRSA Group domination so let me say it now, "I told you so".;):p

Now I'll shut up.

Sorry it took awhile to get back to you. The NBRSA/IBS issue is probably older than you. I have been around to see the separation but not around long enough to see all the issues. The issues are important here. To me I see the NBRSA/IBS like I see Major League baseball. The National League and American League have their own management and similar rules. The NBRSA / IBS have the same. Both groups have times when competition finds both in a common cause. And both have their Championships where both NBRSA/IBS come together as baseball in the series.
I belong to both, schedule for both, and shoot both.
But Donnie you asked about VFS in the NBRSA. As of now their is no interest among NBRSA officials because the shooters are not asking for it. I myself have 12 shoot dates. All 12 are group half NBRSA & half IBS. Our target boards are set up for group targets. Score is score. Group is benchrest. I don't know any other way to say it.
