Reloading scales?

My GemPro finally bit the dust after 15years. I was at Fleet Farm a couple weeks ago and unexpectedly they had a RCBS M1000 on the shelf, it was an impulse buy for $170 but with the name and RCBS balance beam reputation, I didnt think much of it.

As soon as I took it out of the box I saw how cheap it was built, pure chinesium, It had stickers peeling off, it was rough and flimsy for $170 pre tax. I returned that and got a RCBS digital $40 to get me by. GemPro250s are hard to find now and they werent built the best ether but the electronics were amazing.

I havent looked into scales since I got that GemPro years ago. Ive got this RCBS digital scale that is working well but for real fine measurements I would like something better.

Need to decide, do I need a scale with resolution/accuracy better than +,- 0.10 grains? I do not.
Do I need replaceable battery, rechargeable or plug in? I use 120v with line conditioner, leave on all the time.
Next best option for me would be replaceable battery (less interference).

Some one had a smokin deal on a A&D 120 in the for sale it may be gone, I can't find the thread now.

it is expensive, but well worth the cost. You will want to get a piece of granite from a counter top shop for free, got mine out of there dumpster. makes a good solid base for it. level that base, then the scale. some put dryer sheets under or around, or add a ground wire, lots of different things to help it not drift. If it does drift, theres something wrong with your set up, not necessarily the scale. also a benefit is you can add a auto trickler, ingenuity, or several other powder droppers to it. Yes, thats a luxury, but when you have one you'll wish you had it sooner.
Leave it on, or at least plugged in all the time, and a line conditioner is a good idea to protect it from surges.
trust us, its the one you will love.
