I shot UBR with a 223 last year. In my testing with 52 gr Bergers, N-135 shot best in this 40X rifle 14 twist. It didnt like N-133 all that much. I placed 13th nationally in modified with only 10 matches.
With that said, my AR-15 prefers N-133 with 52 gr in the 8 twist. I'd test with both to see what yours likes.
real good info, thks.

N133 would be my choice, I use quite bit of it in 223, 222 and others with those bullet weights. I’ve been using more and more VV powders. Accurate and the lot to lot consistency has been really good in a variety of their powders. The biggest thing is availability. Pricing isn’t bad either compared to the latest price hikes by the other powder guys.

Whidden has good pricing day in and day out, I wish they carried more of the VV line.

I've been debating the same for .223, 20 prac, 6.5 Grendel and a few other calibers but it seems all the data I find has all the VV powders shooting slow compared to other powders

In my use of N-135 and N-140 in my 6br with 64-75 gr bullets I find them both faster than the burn rate chart suggests. JMO

That applies to many Viht powders, especially the older products. I've found this with N135, N140, N150/550, and N160 in a wide range of applications. Some burn rate charts show N135 as 'slower' than both VarGet and H4895 which is nonsense in practice. (N135 is frequently shown too as only a hair 'quicker' than N140 - just look at Viht's maximum charges for the pair across a range of cartridges and bullet weights to see there is a considerable difference between them.)

N150/550 are shown as equivalents to the 4350s - they're not which is why the 'quicker' of the pair, N150, is widely used in 308 Win with charges very close to those for VarGet. N160 is frequently shown as equivalent to IMR-4831, whilst I and others find it closer to IMR-4350.

There are a bunch of alternative powders for the .223. N133 is one but also Ramshot Xterminator, and Tac, CFE 223, BL-C(2), H322, H335, 10X. I've used all of these to good effect. You should be able to find one of these available.
Xterminator has so far worked just as well maybe a little better than n133 for me With 53 vmax. I like the price too.
