Bench Rest Scope

Being retired, and a cheap bastard, I use a Weaver 36 1/8 dot and find it sufficient and a great value. My eyes are old but can still resolve the center dots on an ARA target at 100m with the Weaver 36 - did it today. I liked the NF 42X OK but ended up selling it and buying another Weaver, And an CZ MTR for ARA Factory for my $$.

YMMV

Sounds like my journey as well. I have two T36, and put two buds on them too. Great clarity and focus out to 100yd, and I've sold other higher dollar scopes that just weren't as good.

I really don't get the high power for 50 100yd rimfire, I use a nf benchrest for center fire out to 300yds, it tops out at 42, but for 50 100 rimfire I use a 6 to 24 and it never goes over 20 power at 50, I will go to 24 at 100. Just don't need more to see anything. Oh and I'll add 1/10 moa dot.

Competing in both 50 and 100 yard Benchrest and RF F-Class I have found my Walther with a Weaver T-36 to be more than adequate. I have also had good results with the Muller 40X on my CZ's. I also have a Sightron 10X50 on my new Annie which I am hoping to use soon.

The Weaver 36x FCH or Sightron 45x ED no dots are my preference. I've looked thru several NF's, and I can't see any significant difference, for the $$ anyways. But I still would like to have one. LOL
I've used 4 different scopes since I started shooting ARA unlimited class. I've yet to use get a Nightforce or March but like you, still want one. Since buying my present scope, Weaver T-series XR 46x48, it doesn't look good for me getting a Nightforce or March anytime soon. LOL!!!

I bought an NPI, Newman Precision, INC 22lr; to semi-retire my Remington 37. I have a Leupold 45X45 on it to load test, and then either a Strike Eagle 3-15X or a Leupold 4.5-14X. At 75 I am too old for iron sights.

Fine black widow crosshairs for Bench work, (or so I've heard thats what they used to use lol)
I want (but don't need) an Exact Defined aiming point when shooting for teensie groups
100-200yds 36x is great
However, the better the glass the better the clarity and resolution is so a 24x is fine also if its Top Tier Glass
I had a Leupold for this kind of thing but sold it
My eyes realllllly love the older (Japan) Bausch and Lombs

For 50y rimfire benchrest I have an 8-32 Sightron and a 48x March. I prefer the 48x.

For airgun benchrest I am actually using a 12.5-50x FFP scope mostly left at 50x. It had an odd reticle but the mil dots are circles and I usually set zero to punch the center of one of those.
