I too had issues with terminal performance of the Bergers and Hornadys albeit out of my 22-250AI and in the 75gn range at 3400fps. Blow ups at close range and pencil through at longer ranges. I switched to the 51g HHTs and have been very happy with them. Run them at 4050fps and I’ve shot coyotes from 45-400 yards with them and performance has been great. Also shot a whitetail doe the other day at 175yrd quartering away. Broke through the ribs on close side, destroyed heart and lungs and punched through the far side shoulder with a dime size exit hole. I was very very impressed for a 51gn bullet. Give the hammers a try I think you will be impressed. I’m using an 8twist so the rpm’s are up there.
Out of curiosity, how close are the case capacities on the GT and the xx-250 cases?Better get feel for it- search 20-250…. For loads& velocity & barrel life…

This site has the best search feature, one should look up a specific wildcat cartridge, before taking anything for granted…
Might find out why some got disappointed, or even answer your reason for this thread..

About 1 grain of H20, the research i did awhile back said Lapua GT brass was 43.3 and 22-250 was 44.5
What kind of velocity do you suppose we may get out of this if we neck it down to .14 cal?

I have 2500 of them on hand, bought them when they were being discontinued knowing I’d build a fast 20 at some point. Didn’t know Grafs has them, I’ll probably buy a few more. Thank you
