Funny enough I was going to try and cobble together on of these from one of there side chargers for a no gas deal...why ..I'm weird and it looked fun. .. but seems BCA saw all the people using their side chargers for that purpose and decided to market it ! Actually pretty excited! Hope the bolts and everything will work with standard AR barrels. Got these in the ole email today

Wish they would chill out with there ads though. Just say there cheap and won't blow up and I think it would go better lol !

They have a terrible (online) track record. Having said that, their military discount is awesome, and I've had decent luck with an upper I bought. Granted, if something needed to be tight outta the box, it wasn't. And when I tried to remove the barrel nut? OMG. I didn't think it would ever come off. Had to use a freakin' cheater bar, and lots of leverage.

I'm curious about them. Maybe if they come out with a 300blk I'll get one especially if they make a short barrel.

I wonder how much is interchangeable with standard AR15s. Barrel? Bolt face? Barrel extension? Shutting the gas off isn't that hard if you can use regular barrels.

Shaw barrels makes barrels with no gas port. Not saying Shaw is the best choice, just know they offer it. I would thing anyone that offers barrels could do a no port barrel. Could be a good market for just the upper and BCA. Let folks add the barrels, handguards that they choose. Great suppressor set up as well on the pistol lower.

My neighbor bought two rifles from this company and neither of them would cycle right out of the box. Upon further inspection both rifles had burrs in the chambers and the headspace was too tight on one and about 0.10 short on the other. I wouldn't touch this companies offerings with a 10 foot pole!

X-caliber doesn't offer much in the way of custom mods but will do a no gas port barrel.
I have a few BCA Gen2 side charge uppers, a couple no-gas.
Lacking primary extraction they sometimes suffer from stickage.
The bolt type upper receiver (no BCA barrel) would be a fix for stickage.

I would think the uppers are standard AR uppers as well as the bolts, just with the handle added. It would not be cost effective to do proprietary parts. Bear Creek has been known for not using the top quality parts, but the best priced dealer parts. The reason for the great prices that Bear Creek can sell for. I would purchase the BCA and the matching upper.

Yup, like I said above...

A couple years back, to honor veterans, they were giving away free barrels. Take your pick, and they shipped it out for free.

I love their philosophy, but unless you're a decent 'smith, I'd steer elsewhere.

The side charger upper I purchased last spring has been great, has shot 4 different bullets and 2 powders I have tried well under 1" at 100 yards. The barrel was one of the best looking "factory" barrels I have bore scoped, mirror like finish and cleans up easily. There appeared to be one small burr at the gas port, I used some JB on a tight patch and short stroked it. Price was low enough I couldn't buy parts and assemble, figured I could throw a 20p barrel on it. Now I just going to shoot it, probably mostly prairie dog.
The bolt setup would be sweet with a 204R barrel, or a slow twist 223AI.

Is it bad your the first person I thought of when I saw they where making these ? :D

I hope they sell actions and BCG’s separately. I personally want to build one with a pistol brace lower and a 12” 33 ARC barrel for a stubby suppressed hunting rig!!

Thanks for the picture link.
I have bought several Gen1 and Gen2 side chargers.
Used to be $99 for upper receiver and BCG, now more.
I wonder what the Bolt setup will be?
