Several years ago I bought two packs of 250 of these, and I'm about halfway through the first pack. I cannot say whether they are the same supplier or not. [edit] they came in sealed mylar (milky plastic) bags of 250 [/edit]
The head has come off one or two times, and they leave more fibers than a cheap paintbrush. I don't use them for cleaning or lubricating parts, and hence do not use them as much as I would have liked to.
I have used the bamboo sticks multiple times where I'll use the handle end to mix epoxy and the swab end to wipe off any excess.

Same. I got some heavy duty 3/16" and they sure are handy

I got 1000 about 10 months ago. I have forgotten why I quit using them!

Edit: I thought they would be great for cleaning the lug area of the chamber...They weren't. Too stiff.

Go to harbor freight. Get a set of picks. Then get some q-tip/swabs - the type with a hollow plastic body.

File the tip of the pick down a little bit, cut the tips off your cotton swabs, stick them on your pick. Boom. Perfect way to clean lugs on a bolty or AR for less than 5 dollars..

I bought a two pack of these sandwich things back in 2004. Still on the first box (750 per box). First side is for pokey needs, other side is for mixing.

Also can hold together a sandwich if you are some kind of Savage and do that kinda thing.

If you take large tongue depressors, grab each end and twist 99% of the time they split diagonally from end to end. Giving one pointed and one blunt end.

popsicle/craft sticks here. Easy to shape on a disc sander. 5 oz. cups and a cut off screwdriver for mixing epoxy.

I'll try them. The ones from Brownells have weak sticks. They break just looking at them cross eyed.
