Think I'm going to go 22" that's what my 6br isGo shorter since you’ll be shooting suppressed. Mine is 16” and pushes 125SSTs at like 2,880 with 34.2gr of H4198. They are tons of fun. Enjoy.
I have a .308 magazine box i will bring you at the Nationals.I have all the components except some of the magazines things and a scope. Going to be a sweet rifle.View attachment 1587263

They have to be the older kind. New ones are stampedI have the box and the 223 space but I don't have followers.
I will bring what I have and if they will work or can be modified to work, they are yours. They have to be the older kind. New ones are stamped

I follow Mike Bryant's mag conversation. Basically you take a 308 follower and shorten it put a 223 spacer in the box mag and use a 223 spring.@Knorthcutt222 what all did you have to do, if anything, to get the 6BR to feed from the BDL mag box??
I’ve got a 700 VLS 22-250 I’d like to have an 8 twist 6 Dasher barrel on
The early machined followers help out, too.I follow Mike Bryant's mag conversation. Basically you take a 308 follower and shorten it put a 223 spacer in the box mag and use a 223 spring.
I agree. That bullet does great at that speed on deer sized critters. Push it hard and it'll come apart though. I built a few 30 Major AR15's and shot that bullet at 2650fps. Killed two deer with mine and neither moved. When my boys were young I downloaded a 125 Balistic Tip in a 308 to about 2750 and it flat out put a hurting on a few deer.
Yeah I'm in need of some. The early machined followers help out, too.
Will check my stash.Yeah I'm in need of some.
Yea that's the thing about 30BRs. They are not fuzzy at all and tune easy. Good luck with hunting with it. I sure do love my custom Model 7 Hunter by ODCR.well i took out the 30br today and shot sum loads just to see where to start, out of a 21in Bartlein barrel with a suppressor i had a .081" group with H322 and a 115gr sierra hp, the velocity was 2525fps ave. I figure that should be good enough to ear hole slick heads, benchmark was a lil slower on velocity, 2509fps with 35gr benchmark and a Sierra 110gr hp for a .252" group, not to shabby for just throwing powder in the case and seating it , used a .324 nk bushing half way down the neck when sizing. Any suggestions welcome. I figured i share what i did to my fellow 30br rifle hunters.
oh for the magazine i used a legacy detachable mag kit with a .223 mag and used a dremal to make it work, holds 3 no prob and feeds perfect with all the rounds i tested today.
makes me want a 30 BR.My 30BR Hunter is a Rem Model 7 custom build from ODCR (WSMNUT) here on the site. This is the same reamer as my B R 700 was done with by ODCR. Only changes made was I moved to the 1 - 15 Tw. Barrel due to using the 125 gr. class bullets. I am very content with the build as it shoots the 125 gr. class bullets @ 5-shot gps. into 1/4 inch consistently. I settled on the Nosler 125 gr. Accu Bond and Ballistic Tip as this was my plan. I would not change anything about the build if doing it again.
