6.5 creedmoor rifle advice needed.

I want to buy a 6.5 creedmoor for hunting and maybe range shooting. Maybe $1500 dollars or less. I want a somewhat heavy 24-26 barrel. Any good reports on the Savage predator, Bergera rifles, or the Browning hell’s canyon? I’II spend a little more if I need to.

You can get a Soulus custom actioned rifle for $1065 now with SAVESOLUS coupon code. Yes it's not a 24-26" barrel but you can buy this rifle and then buy another barrel and still be just over your price range and you can change the barrels easily at home. Use the 22" to hunt and get a longer one for range time. I think the sale ends tomorrow night so get looking as this is a great deal for a custom action built rifle.

I have a Tikka CTR 20” that has been fantastic but I’d take a look at the new Tikka Super Varmint. Link below. I had a super varmint in 6.5 PRC, incredibly accurate and in my opinion they are worth the extra money. You can shop them and find them for 1500.00 or so if you’re not in a rush. If you are they are still worth the price, great rifles.

The creed is a solid cartridge despite all the hate but for hunting the 6.5PRC will give you some added umph without much additional recoil, just mentioning it.

Ditto on the Super Varmint in 6.5CM. Mine is strictly a range gun, though. A buddy of mine thought the PRC to be a better hunting round.

The savage will shoot good right out of the box. I have the 110 tactical and is deadly accurate. I also have a browning eclips target ( its now discontinued) and is a tack driver. Fit and finnish is won by the browning. There are many options out there in good rifles in 6.5cm

The creed is plenty for hunting. If you want more, go to the 7 prc or 300prc to get a real increase, not the 6.5 prc

My Lefty Tikka, 6.5 Creed. 24" T-3 X shoots, the 130 grain, ELD-M's ( @ 2,800+ FPS ) from, LOW 3's to, 1/2 MOA.
My Hunting Load, is the 143 grain ELD-X's at, 2,725 FPS and is, a 5/8th's MOA Load ( Never Bothered to, improve, on It ! ). I put a PVA Back Country Brake on it and It's,.. REAL Pleasant to,. shoot !
The 6.5 PRC is "Close To" the .270 WSM,.. IF, IF you want to Shoot Elk at, Longer Ranges, BUT at, TWICE, the Barrel Burning, Rate ! The 6.5 Creed, will Kill Elk at 500 Yards, All Day Long, WITH, "Well Placed", good Bullets ! ).
135 / 140 gr. Bergers or, 143 ELD-X's HAVE Taken, SEVERAL "Trophy Sized" Bulls, HERE, in Idaho, to 400 Yards !
And Once in a While,. somebody "Pop's One" at,. 600 yards ( NOT, my "Cup of, Tea", THO ! ).
PS; 95 % of Elk, in the USA,.. ARE Taken at, LESS THAN,.. 400 Yards !!!
Put, the Balance of Your Money in, a "Good", Scope.

I Have the Savage, nephew has a Bergera, both shoot just fine, right out of the box, with a good worked up reload. So far one shot, well placed on deer and dead in their tracks.

The Bergara rifles are good. Had mine for a few years. Settled in using the 127LRX with sub .5 moa. More of a hunting than target rifle but it's called the Hunter Marksman Rifle (HMR).

Any of these rifles besides the tikka, will require the firing hole to be bushed if you’re reloading and using small primers.

Just a FYI.
You’ll be cratering primers well before you get to pressure. I only state this because I know LRP are hard to find now

Not the Soulus I posted. It's a custom action and made to use both.

Honestly don't know why anyone would buy anything in this thread but the Soulus for $1065. For the $1065 for the Solus rifle you get:

$832 action
$360 chassis
$160 trigger

So $1352 in parts before you add the barrel. And you can use abundant AICS mags and not more expensive Tikka mags.

I bought a Browning HC Longrange McMillan (6.5 Creed) a couple of years ago. That rifle has shot MANY groups that came in under 1.5" @ 400yds. The only modification was a trigger upgrade.
