any way to turn the necks down ?I have the Hornady concentricity gauge with the pusher that I use ALL the time since they are all off a little. I don’t have a gauge to check just the fired brass though.

Rifle Basix, one eye open, 8 oz, ?What brand trigger is in the rifle? Do you keep your eyes open when you pull the trigger and the rifle goes bang? What is the weight of the trigger pull? Is your house at the end of the road under the old bridge?
I don’t have any way to turn the necks, but I do use a mandrel after sizing to push the inside of the neck out. I was under the impression that had a similar effect as neck turning. If not then that’s something I may try in the future. Just so many variables on the table right now.any way to turn the necks down ?
You are correct. At this point there is no need to turn necks. When the scope returns carry on.I don’t have any way to turn the necks, but I do use a mandrel after sizing to push the inside of the neck out. They all tend to say that after repairsVortex called me and said the scope passed all of their testings. Back to trouble shooting my handloads.
Just keep all the channels open for now, hard to say anything for certain.Vortex called me and said the scope passed all of their testings. Back to trouble shooting my handloads.
I’ve never taken into consideration how hot the barrel got. Should I stop after the first 10 shots for several minutes or something? As mentioned above, when the scope returns remount AFTER checking to make sure your bases are correctly installed and torqued. Make sure alignment looks good when you install and torque the rings. Double check barrel channel clearance and stock screw torque. Then shoot 3 - 10 round groups with the exact same loads taking enough time to not get the barrel hot.
Then you'll have a new baseline.
Gotta do all that before anything else.
As the barrel heats some tune will go away. It is best to keep the barrel heat down when trouble shooting or load development.I’ve never taken into consideration how hot the barrel got. Should I stop after the first 10 shots for several minutes or something?
Thanks for the help.
Nope. As stated ‘no fault found’ is common.Vortex called me and said the scope passed all of their testings. Back to trouble shooting my handloads.
Other than shoe color it’s the only thing not mentioned.Doesn't look like anyone has mentioned parallax. If that is out of whack and you don't have a very repeatable position you are gonna have problems.
If you find it uncomfortable to hold your hand on the barrel for 5 seconds, it's getting hot. Especially if you're 'toughing it out'. Particularly relevant if you're trying to establish a baseline.I’ve never taken into consideration how hot the barrel got. Should I stop after the first 10 shots for several minutes or something?
Thanks for the help.
It’s been said before, and is worth just hammering the point again.I’ve never taken into consideration how hot the barrel got. Should I stop after the first 10 shots for several minutes or something?
Thanks for the help.
The crown is nice and clean and looks crisp with my bore scope. I don’t have any pictures from the scope to post at the moment.can we question the crown
