The margin is easy to verify. Chamber an empty case and look in from the muzzle with your teslong scope

With the Lyman, try it with and without the spring behind the collars....decide for yourself which is more accurate and which way cuts a more squared-up case mouth

Used the Lyman Trimmer today.
Cool. Much faster than the hand crank Hornady.
Easy to set up. Cleaner cuts.
Used with spring this time. Will try without later.

WFT is what I use. Indexes off the shoulder, very fast, very consistent. Not cheap.

Also have an LE Wilson which indexes off the base, not quite as fast, but a good piece of kit.

Assuming your Teslong is long enough, which mine isn’t for any of our F open barrels.

Get a Girard or a Gracey. It makes it so easy I run them thrue every reload.

My Teslong wouldn't make it to the breach on a 36" barrel, maybe would to the neck and shoulder.
It's only 35" long. 28 or 30" or 32" no problem.

that the standard trim lengths listed are pretty short to the actual neck length in the chamber, by .010 or more. so in the gas gun i let them grow to about .010 from my actual length, not the suggested trim length.

I use a Dillon 1500 for case forming/ shortening and a Giraud for trimming/chamfering .

I wet tumble so I trim/chamfer after every firing to eliminate any case mouth peening and standardize OAL.

However peening is very minimal on a short wet tumble cycle and OAL doesn't move much per firing. I just do it because I can with minimal effort....1000 Vartarg PD cases after a 15 minute wet tumble takes about 30 minutes to trim/ chamfer.

I find that it's faster to trim on the Giraud, @ 1.5-2.0 seconds per case, than it is to measure OAL with a caliper.
