UPS Taking Photo During Package Delivery

May times the picture is taken by Amazon right in front of my door, where it is visible to the street, and it is right next to the sign I place at the step in front of the door " Please place packages behind the bench to the right" which is behind some bushes, and is not visible from the street.

If the package is placed out of sight from the street, I give them an excellent feedback rating.

We've had this in the UK for a long time. Mostly to prevent people claiming it's not been delivered. You wouldn't leave it on the doorstep here, it'd soon be gone. They always take a picture with the door open, if not they leave with a neighbour if you've specified one or back to the depot.

WE've been receiving the photo of packages on the front porch for some time now.
It works for me. Often times when I see the notice I can tell by its shape or size what it is and can decide how big of rush I am in to go to the front door.

Personally, I think it's a great idea. If it did happen to get mis-delivered and showed as delivered I may be able to recognize whose porch it is. It's extremely rare that happens though.

They have been doing it for a period of time now. Can you blame them for CIA with all the false claims and pirates around now days ? Does not bother me one bit, if they do it.

This happened to me once. Recognized the front entry as my neighbors. Went over and retrieved my package.

I have seen it, only problem was it wasn't my porch and it was a very expensive item and it was late in the evening and was unable to get ahold of ups. I had to walk the neighborhood looking for a porch that matched the photo. Found it two blocks away but no package and no answer. I left a note and about 10pm I got a knock at the door and the neighbor brought it by luckily. Address was not even close, go figure.

No pictures from my UPS guys/gals First I heard of this. But no porch pirates where I am, maybe that's the difference.

I too received a pic of my package at a neighbors house. Did not recognize the house so I had to ride the neighborhood. Found it two streets over…. Ugh…. Danny

Recent reports indicate FedEx is installing automated license plate readers in an agreement with Flock Safety which is an AI driven surveillance firm. Information from the license plate readers will be shared with Flock's subscribers which include several thousand law enforcement agencies.

My UPS driver is outstanding, nice guy. He takes pictures but Ive never seen one as part of my tracking info. We get several deliveries weekly, maybe it will change, I’m fine either way,

I get stuff with other house addresses from time to time, I just deliver them myself. I like the video of the Fedx guy dropping off a new IPhone, as he rings the bell and takes a photo of the package at the door sill. A guy parks as fedx walks to the house, runs up grabs the package and sprints back to the car. Person answers door, fedx says " he took the package".

We have cameras all around our house. I had a rear control arm delivered for my Jeep. The thing weighs about 30 lbs. I get home and the box has a hole in it and taped up but the box is empty. I call UPS and tell them they delivered a empty box. And they knew it. Well my video shows to guy walking up to the house with the box in one hand a swinging it like there was nothing in it. Well there wasn't. UPS instantly paid the claim. The UPS guy was pissed off. Every time he delivers something now he waves and and points at the box and nods his head.

And they had the pic of the empty box sitting on the stairs in front of the house as proof it was delivered.

I'm a delivery guy for a contractor sales/home improvement business. Our stores are now hooked up with a delivery APP which we are supposed to use to clock our time, trip route, invoice number, take take pics of the delivered merchandise on the ground. Also if possible, get an electronic signature from customer if present. We are supposed to complete this on our company cell phones, often in areas where service is sketchy or non existent. What could possibly go wrong?

There are three of us drivers, and we're all pretty high on the technotard scale and we have almost no success at completing our electronic delivery record. I can only assume that UPS has a better system than ours. I'll also say that simply doing everything necessary too abide by this program reduces our completed deliveries by at least a third. jd

I think AMAZON (in someplaces) upload delivery data, delayed until they have cell coverage.
Some cell services don't work back by the house, we get updated several minutes after delivery.

Fedex driver just left and checking delivery data......No Pic.
Just a knock on the door. I wanted to talk to the driver but
could not get to the door in time. Maybe with car and truck
in the driveway they figured not needed ??
