Thank you guys. I'll be looking at the Maven
I’m curious to know if the newer one will work…Guys I bought the maven RF1. It came yesterday and would not range a modular home past 500 yards. Smaller items were way worse. 4x4 target butts were 300 max. I called Maven and they said the alignment or convergence must be off. Either send it to them or back to Amazon and get another unit if you are in a hurry. I elected to return it to Amazon and get another headed my way. The site I bought from on Amazon is Mavenbuilt.com so likely same place. Free shipping. That’s just my luck anymore. The guy at Maven told me anything he could do to help expedite the situation he would be glad to do it. Very nice to talk to. No runaround. I’ll update when this new one comes.
It should be here on Wednesday. I will update. With all of the reviews I've read on Maven I'm almost positive I just got a lemon. Which is par for the course for me.I’m curious to know if the newer one will work…
I have a Sig Kilo 2000.. the first one from Sig- I need another - my 2 boys take the Sig to go groundhog hunting… so I’m stuck guessing..
It hasn’t missed a beat yet.. only batteries is all it’s needed….
The maven has my attention..
I picked up Maven's after Rick's recommendation. I took them to Wyoming last year and they didn't miss a beat. I've used them since and they'll be going back to Wyoming this year with me. I actually called Maven and ask if people in their company used them on pdogs and they answer was "yes". You'll not find a rangefinder with these features and quality anywhere else for this price. Are they the best money can buy, I doubt it, but in their price range, I would have to say yes.Mavin RF-1 7-25
I picked up one of these recently and I think you should check it out......It's all I will ever need to know how far away things are. Had really nice glass and focus as well.
Regards
Rick
Heck yeah!!!Successful evening with the Maven so far. Ranged does at 288, 302, 467, 525. All one shot kills with 6.5-06 and 147 eldm. They are devastating our soybean crop and the planting and replanting cost is staggering to say the least. It's routine to drive into this particular field and see 60-70 at one time. These deer weigh between 100-110 pounds which is our avg. for a mature whitetail doe.
My biggest issue and no fault of the Maven is a slight tremor at times in my right hand. I was able to steady up on my Bog Pod and use the scan feature to check my most distant targets. I have to do this with my Leica also but the Leica won't range nearly as far as the Maven. Temp was in the 80s and relative humidity was 80 plus.
I ordered a Marsupial Gear pouch for it. It fits in my Leica pouch but im keeping it for truck use.
Y'all have a good evening, I'm switching over to the Grendel and thermal as I type.
Our permit laws are changing for the better as we speak. The thermal has been a Game changer for us. I have two of them. I bought a second inexpensive unit for my son. It'll still get out to 250-300 on a good night. Mine will ID them much farther than I can shoot.Heck yeah!!!
Had our permit since 4-1… expires 8-25
Thermal’s waiting.. it’s deerthirty here…
