It seems that the only muzzle devices for the 6MM ARC are all 30 cal. Is that what's being used right now.? I am quite familiar with many of them.
I would say as long as you have at least .020 clearance with whatever MD you use, you should be fine. That assumes proper machine work that insures the MD is dead nuz parallel with the bore though. I've seen some that were not well done. From A2 FE to Beaney Coolies. Flash hiders to Muzzle brakes. LOL. Not a bad idea to ream a custom bullet diameter.
Yes, this. Ime you can measure a lot that you won't feel. I think a bigger hole hurts brake effectiveness but not a lot and you may never actually feel the difference unless you're very familiar with the gun. Even then, very familiar with it braked etc.You can use a .30 brake on a 6mm. Won't hurt anything and you won't feel the difference in recoil but not sure why you can't find a 6mm brake if that is what you want. There are a ton of 6mm brakes out there.
My Aero Precision M4E1 came with a 30-caliber muzzle brake. It's effective. That being said, I wonder how effective are brakes designed for a 223 reamed out to 6mm work to reduce with smaller ports and chambers. Original question is, are people using 30 cal brakes on 6mm arcs.
what caliber was your aero.?My Aero Precision M4E1 came with a 30-caliber muzzle brake. It's effective.
6MM ARC.Not tons out there. Brownells has 300 plus brakes and not one for 6mm. Thanks for the tip on the APA an
