What do you think a starting load would for the 150's should be?Happened to see your question. 8208 should work fine with a 150 gr bullet.
I purposely had my 30 BR reamer made with more freebore so I could shoot longer bullets. I have been shooting 168 gr bullets for over a decade.
I bought several hundred 168 Hornady HPBT match bullets and use 33.5 gr of IMR 8208 XBR for a velocity of 2490 with a 24" barrel.
I built it on a Howa mini action so I'm limited to 2.34" in the magazine.Be aware that the typical 30BR chamber/reamer will feature ZERO to < 0.010" of free-bore, while a typical 150 Gr. bullet will "want" more like 0.150" of free-bore. With the longer bullets and no free-bore, you'd sacrifice substantial capacity, thus velocity potential. Further, yoou'd be best served using a 1:14", or, 1:15" twist . . . or, even faster. RG
Last time I looked, Sierra loading manual listed 7mm BR load DATA: check it out, and, for equal bullet weight, use the same DATA, beginning low and working up. Due to expansion ratio, 30 Cal. pressure(s) with same bullet weight, should be lower, than the 7MM DATA, thus safe. Good shootin'! RGWhat do you think a starting load would for the 150's should be?
