Eric Cortina's 500 yard BlackJack Challenge

That is pretty amazing! Im glad to see your plan come together. Sorry to hear that you aren’t going to shoot your M1A. I’ve been thinking you would be a winner for just showing up with that rifle. Best of luck!

I know! I didn’t give it enough of a chance. Before Friday I will rectify that with another range session.

I can honestly say that if they both shoot similarly, I will pick the SuperMatch every time.

Richard King, for anyone that’s privileged to know him, has an old black and white Service picture in his gun room, where he won with one of these in the Army. It’s actually why I got it.

Just the fact that he caught a glimpse of this very one, in my car in Phoenix many years back, and pulled it out, and bless him - was an emotional moment, makes it special.

I would take a partner that is familiar with your discipline and your strategy and have him spot for you, I doubt Eric would care. Like you said the other guys were spotting for each other and if I recall I even heard Eric calling out misses and where they hit on some of the videos. Good luck.

I been watching all of these. I would like to see all the youtubers and people he has interviewed do it preferably all together Speedy, f class john, ultimate reloader, johnys reloading, bolt action reloading, jack neary, lou murdica, winning in the wind, primal rights , and so on.

We both hit multiple plates in the wind. I won’t blab too much. 5 iron sight guys and many more scoped, but the GAME is still on, and we will never forget this match, the quality time, and thank Erik resoundingly for his enthusiasm and dedication to the sport and shooters in it. It drew shooters from CA to OH today, great time had by all!

Congratulations! I can’t wait to see it.

Just for discussion, what were the iron sight shooters using? Hopefully some better equipment than the Mosin guys a couple weeks ago.

The group was so large that it was halved and two episodes were made today. The one in my group had an Ohio gentleman that shoots nearby Camp Perry with a very serious and high end appearing micro-adjustable fitted chassis target rifle. I know that the best sets are in the 4 figure range, and his looked to be at a level like the best sights I’ve seen, quite possibly always on that rifle. Good videos lay in store.

Has anyone else watched these on YouTube? So far there are 3 episodes. It looks like a mighty fun game.
For the 3rd episode, the format was changed. I think the change was a good one.

I fully realize this post would be better with a link. I am not sure how to do that on my phone. I am hoping a more tech savvy person will post a link.
has anyone hit the 2” yet??
