Precision ar??

Who all makes a super accurate/target ar rifle???
What caliber? Robert Whitley "used" to offer a service but I understand he no longer is available for that. Not bragging, but I think I would put the one I built up against any commercial upper. And to me the key is the barrel. Follow Robert's recommendations and have one built.

What is your standard definition of “super accurate”?
Just to add to this question and Jepp2's comments, I would say it's reasonably easy and much cheaper to build your own.
Note that Baer no longer offers rifles. I'm betting that the ease and cost of building your own accurate rifle had something to do with that decision.
For accuracy - Baer, as I remember, guaranteed a 1/2 MOA 3 shot group. JP says all their rifles are capable of less than 1 MOA. Neither say that they guarantee that for every group. Once you get a load that shoots at least one 1/2 MOA group, expect most of the groups will probably be larger, some close to the 1/2 MOA and maybe some less than 1/2 MOA.

Following Whitley's measures will produce a rifle that's capable of many 1/2 MOA groups but requires developing a load to do it. Rough estimate of the cost is $1000 for the upper [assuming $450 for the barrel] and a little less than $500 for the lower - but including a trigger like the Geissele HSNM/TriggerTech diamond.

PS. My own experience is tightening the fit between the upper and lower does not impact first order accuracy. As far as I can tell, it's impact is, if anything, less than .1 MOA.

This is what I would consider an accurate AR. These targets are all shot during match conditions none of them are handpicked wall hanger targets. They are two three and 500 yd. At 500 yd it's usually two to two and a half inches. 500 yd Target is usually shot around 1:00 in the afternoon pretty rough conditions for our range normally. Good conditions early in the morning I've shot numerous inch and a half inch and a quarter groups at 500. This is an off-the-shelf White oak armament upper, Wilson bbl with a custom lower and geisely trigger. I usually average somewhere in the mid 130s out of 150 perfect score. Best score was a 142 out of 150. Two of them points that I dropped were absolutely my fault. Got excited didn't do what I needed to do.

So long as you realize what you are getting into.... life can be short....

You are going after a rare barrel for an AR. You may have to have it made custom to get a match quality result.

There is so little difference in the case capacity between 222 and 223, but a huge difference in the convenience of just running an AR in 223/556 versus going after the 222.

So long as you know you are into an uphill situation with 222 in an AR platform compared to a bolt gun, then it is your life and you should not let anyone else talk you out of it.

Interesting would be my first thought. So I assume you are looking at slow twist with lighter bullets? Other than being unique, the only advantage I can think of right away is potential shorter COAL. But the longer neck "might" create feeding challenges.

With my 12T Krieger 223 (they made and chambered the barrel for me) I don't have length issues for magazine fed rounds. For 7T with heavies, the COAL can easily exceed 2.260". But I window my magazine and can gain 0.100" in COAL doing so.

A while back I made a claim to a friend I shoot with that I felt my "gas gun" could out shoot his bolt gun. He has great love for his rifle and boasts about it excessively. So I spent more time on load development than normal getting ready for him. This is what my AR is capable of at 100m (bottom right target I use 5 rounds of factory loaded Lapua to foul my bore).

A friend owns a US arms Co Champion, we’ve been shooting quite a bit, link below.. The most accurate stock AR I’ve personally fired. I also like RRA heavy barrels and White Oak for accuracy. If you get into custom ARs that’s a big big rabbit hole.

WHITE OAK ARMAMENT for Match Rifle and Service Rifle Uppers. Match Rifle Butt Stocks.
ETA: Varmit Uppers too and Some RPR barrels as well as some others
