Dad's old Machinist handbook. He was born in 1905.

Mine is a 17th edition from 1966.

Jimmie Lee Knox just gifted me a Shilen catalog from the Irving, Tx facility. Complete Shilen custom rifles were $425. Chrome-moly barrels were $33. He also sent me 2 folders from the 1969 and 1970 Speer National Matches in Oklahoma. Both contain a letter from Raymond G. Speer, the complete roster of shooters, results, and equipment list. I will pass these to Wade Hull at Shilen.

Dad's old Field Manual and Springfield / Garand scorebook from WWII. Field manual has some interesting stuff about care and maintenance of a 1911 and a Garand.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but I have it somewhere.

Somewhere in a box I have a 1972 edition of Shooters Bible, a yearly publication that covered just about every firearm sold that year, plus technical articles.

One of the articles was “those new fangled short barrel benchrest rifles and synthetic stocks.

An example as a young man sitting at the bench with one of these “new rifles, that appeared to e built on a Remington short action with about a 20 inch barrel and a synthetic stock.

The shooter was a guy named Ed Shilen.
