New Rifle for Longer Range shooting

I'm thinking about a new rifle to shoot longer range than I'm currently, 100-200 yds.
Thinking about the Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision in 6mm or 6.5x284.
Or the Browning Xbolt Max. Long Range Hell's Canyon cal. 6.5 PRC or 6.8 Western, or Bergara B14 Wilderness HMR 6.5 or 7 PRC. Ruled out all others.
Can anyone off how accurate any of the shoot? Thanks

I don’t have any specific experience with any of those but all of them are very capable hunting rifles and calibers. Accuracy would depend on many variables for example the distance you’re wanting to shoot and do you plan on developing a hand load or shooting factory ammo. The scope would also have to fit the situation.

With all those variables ironed out, it’s not impractical to develop any of those into a 450 yard hunting rifle capable of 1 MOA. Now, proficiency is another matter indeed.

I have a Browning A Bolt Medallion in 300 Win mag set up for longer range hunting. It will hold 1 MOA at 600 yds but I have a personal limit of 450.

I would definitely say get the Savage in 6br.
Easy to load, easy to shoot and boringly accurate.
You can screw on a prefit barrel, without a gunsmith, whenever you are ready to upgrade to a better barrel or larger cartridge.
This is the easy button...

My 23 y/o grandson has, a Savage 110 Ultra Lite ( IIRC the model ) with, the Factory installed Proof Barrel, in 6.5 PRC that shoots,.. "Lights Out" ( 1/2 MOA with, custom Hand loaded, 143 ELD-X's @ 3,100 FPS ) He's got 3 Deer from, 225 to 498 Yds, all DRT within, 20 yds of impact !
He Out shot ME and, my .270 WSM, Tikka at,.. 700 Yds with, it !
But like Walt Kraft said, Estimated Barrel Life probably averages around, the 1,000 shot mark, of Accuracy.
A 6.5 Creedmoor, in either a Savage or Tikka, would be, a "Good" choice for,.. LR Fun / Targets.
Especially IF not, currently Handloading, as GOOD, 6.5 Creed Ammo is,.. Everywhere

Savage. I have a Savage Model 12 single shot in .223 that is accurate.
As others have mentioned I would recommend you also consider a 6BR. It comes in the 12 LRPV as well as the benchrest and fclass models. The 6.5 Creedmoor would give better barrel life compared to the 6.5-284 in the LRP Hunter.

You state you want to shoot longer than 100-200
How far are you planning on shooting. 300, 1000, 1500 ?
Makes a big difference on caliber.
I take it, you don't want a custom build. Is this a hunting rifle or plinker or target?
What are you accuracy expectations?
How many rounds a year do you plan on shooting?
All questions you need to answer.

I owned 3, Savage Model 12 F/V. My first one 6.5 CM gave me excellent accuracy at 600 and 1000 yds with reloads (40.5 gr, H4350, 140gr Hornady). I kept my FPS below 2800 and got about 1300 rounds before I shot the barrel out, re barreled with a Brux. Second used model 12 (.308), I rebarreled in 6mm CM. again kept my FPS under 3000. First barrel lasted 1000 rounds, rebarreled with a Krieger and so far have 497 rounds.
Third Savage 12, 6.5 CM, still on the factory barrel with 419 rounds that I put through it (no telling what the orig owner shot).

Accuracy wise:
1st savage 6.5 CM gives me 3" groups at 600 and 6.6" at 1000 yds
2nd Savage 6mm CM gives me under 2" groups at 600 and 5" at 1000 yds
3rd bone stock model 12 gives me 5-6" at 600 and 7-8 at 1000 yds.

So for the money Savage will give you out of the box accuracy without spending a $1000.00 on a gun.

just my $.02 worth...

Have a Savage Model 12 LRPV in .223, 1:7 twist, first real range gun. It`s been great fun hitting out to 500 yards, shooting at 4" and 5" aiming spots on white steel. Plenty challenging. The Model 12s are solidly made guns IMO and VERY accurate as a rule.

The rifles you mentioned are geared towards hunting.

If you want to sit there for an afternoon and consistently put numerous rounds on target, you want a different gun.

For first hit on a 6" plate at 600 yards, with practice, can be accomplished with a Savage Axis, or Ruger American for much less.

the 2nd Savage in 6CM, more details please. I think there are several models that could be 12F/V? the second rifle has Krieger barrel, correct/

It started out as a used .308 (I think, long time ago). re barreled it with a Wilson barrel in a 6mm CM chamber. Shot that barrel out after 1,100 rounds. Re barreled with a Krieger barrel. Got 496 rounds on it and so far. Shoots great at 1000 yds.

Using 108 ELD's, 40.6gr H4350, .030 off the lands.

They were Custom Loaded by some company back east, in ADG Brass and they Chrono'd slightly over, 3,100 FPS.
My grandson, put all the ammo he had, in 50 rd Plastic Boxes and threw away, the Paper Boxes ( Sorry ).
Lots of People, are using factory Hornady Precision Hunter ammo to, GOOD effect, tho.
Hand loaded, 143 ELD-X's shoot into, 1/2 to 5/8ths MOA, 5 shot groups, in my 6.5 Creedmoor, Tikka, T-3.
The 130 gr. ELD-M's shoot Better,.. but I'd use, the Tougher ELD-X's for Deer / Antelope, IMO
