Best bullet you ever shot.

The Nosler 40 gr. .22 Ballistic Tip. This bullet has shot in the “1’s” across 3 different rifles at various twist rates and a very wide velocity range. Has shot 3 touching at 200 yards on a few occasions. Out of various boxes I might add. And, with me doing the shooting that’s saying something.

Just curious. Excluding hand swaged. What’s the most accurate bullet you’ve ever shot, and what cartridge was it for? Let’s say, 1,000 yards and in. Obviously many factors go into an accurate round, but just for the sake of argument.
Old Berger 68 gr. Flat base HP with xx 133 in 6 ppc .ALL this in a .100 group at 100 yds. while fire forming, 220 Russian brass.
WHO'D A THUNK IT ???

You said “excluding hand swaged”, many of the bullets suggested are indeed hand swaged.

But then that is what many of the participants on this Site shoot. These are made by numerous custom bullet makers that provide the very best for Match Shooting, Varminting, and just good ole bragging rights at the range.

I suppose you should have said “semi-custom” or even “Factory”. For that, I would say the Hornady “A Max” in my custom 30/06 out of a 1-9 twist Krieger Barrel.

The best ones I have shot for accuracy

243 Win 10" twist: Sierra 85 BTHP

223 Rem 8" twist: Hornady 60 Vmax.

223 Rem 12" twist: 55 Nosler BT.

308 Win 10" twist: 150 Nosler BT and 150 Sierra Pro Hunter - toss-up.

22 250 Rem 14" Twist: 50 Nosler BT.

270 Win 10" twist: 130 Sierra BT Spitzer

30 06 10": 165 grain Sierra BT Spitzer

38 Special: 148 grain Hollow Base Swaged wadcutter - accuracy

38 Special / 357 Magnum: 125 Hornaday XTP - performance.

Impossible to answer given the wide variety of bullets that are not necessarily the most accurate in general but shoot great in a specific gun. One example: I have a Ruger American Rifle in .223 that would not shoot to save its life. One day a friend at the range gave me some Nosler 70 grain RDF bullets to test. Voila! The damn little cheapo gun shoots one-hole groups at 100 yards with the RDF. Now, the RDF is a good bullet, but I am sure there are much better bullets.

.17 Remington - 10" 25-grain VMax
,223 - 8" twist 53-grain VMax
.223 - 12" twist 50-grain VMax
.22-250 - 14" twist 52-AMax (still have 800 of them!)
.243 Winchester - 9.25" twist 75-grain VMax
7mm BR - 10" twist 120-grain SSP (Single Shot Pistol - no longer made)
.280 Remington - 10" twist 139-grain InterBond
.30-06 Springfield - 10" twist 165-grain InterBond

See a pattern here? Hornady bullets have always been good to me.
