Remington Leaves NY

I love it, the union is claiming they helped the Co. to rise from the ashes after the Bankruptcy, What a joke, they fought them tooth and claw keeping them from opening sooner, it's the union workers poor workmanship that caused the quality problems in the years before!
No friend, it is not, not as the primary factor anyway.
going to high school 5 miles away, having many friends working there, I’ll clue you on a couple things.
First, a bevy of non gun engineers and management. Way too much old tooling.
Production demands exceeding the rates that tolerances can be maintained.
As an example….the hammer forging machines were cranking so fast, one of their warranty returns were guns coming back without complete rifling ahead of the chambers.

Ha! Thank you! That explains a 700 tactical my son bought in 2014 that had 4R rifling for the 1st 2 inches ahead of the chamber and then 5R rifling beyond that. It never shot well. Then I bought a borescope and looked. Then I ordered a Bartlein. Then I read about the trigger issue. So I ordered a Jewel. Sorry, but no more Remingtons for us. Might as well buy custom from the get go. Its a nice rifle now after all the remediation.

The sad part of this whole deal is the libs and antigunners win another round. Their goal is to make it so hard to do any kind of gun business that the company's and such leave. The libs would like nothing better than to make it impossible for the lawabididing citizen to buy a gun..

Viewed another way, Remington's now making it easier to be great, by getting out from under that boot heel.

Of course, at the national level, the damned legislature's capable of almost any infamy when it puts its mind to it. But that's all on us, the People, via the choices (for dolts or vindictive corrupted types or quality hired help) we make.

Time to acquire more tar, feathers and rails for the sods. Time to use it more, um, liberally. The "Remingtons" of this nation will thank us for it, no doubt. (Else, they all probably face a fate of $13M auction sales of shadows of their former selves, if we allow the barbarians to knock down the gate.)

Funny how you (meaning both of us) have formed these opinions after having been to the factory in Ilion, spent time in the building, offices, and in the factory, with the employees. I’ve said it before, some of the best people you would want to know. Perfect? Maybe not, but the final product was controlled by management!
