First IR 50/50 Suhl 150

Made some time to get to the range today. Not great conditions but hey anyone can shoot with no wind. 5-8 MPH switching wind. Pretty pleases with it.

How do you all set up your flags for 50? I basically just had one flag up around 10 yards before the target. Very new to the rimfire benchrest game.

I put my flag 15 feet from the bench, the farther from the target the more time the wind has to act on the bullet. I usually also put a flag at 25yards

Looks like you have a nice shooting rifle. Your target shows that you're not seeing a condition(s) with just the one flag.The consistencies in your misses show this. I'd recommend at least 3 more in order to cover the range.
I usually use 4 & place them at 5, 15,30, & 45ish. Many use 5 flags & a probe or 2.
Then decide which one(s) are doing the most damage.

I think it’s a good target for being new to BR and in 5-8 mph wind.
It looks to me that your rifle is shooting flat other than one bad dropper, mostly Left and right. Most BR shooters put out 4-7 flags, I used to angle mine so all were in view.

Get a scoring plug, I think your X count would improve, 11,12 and 25 looks as if they would make it.
I would also shoot more sighters, especially when you have switching wind, they will tell you a lot. Your off to a great start, practice often.

Get a wind rose and see what the wind does to those little bullets . sometimes its not what you expect, like a 1:00 head wind

Yes sir, the yellow and blue tails are used to judge how hard the wind is blowing.

It's a very simple flag setup compared to other types of flags I've seen. After shooting over them for about six months I have started picking up on what they are saying to me. And I'm still learning every time I shoot.
