Liberty Optics - Issues?

If you guys have an outstanding order with Liberty Optics, you should browse this thread on Snipers Hide. I know I've used them in the past a few times, successfully, and have recommended them.

I have an outstanding order with them and Vortex advised me to start a chargeback process with my credit card company.

I've purchased optics from Liberty Optics before. This time around it's been 8 days and no word on shipping. I tried calling but the number provided in my order confirmation has been deactivated. Wondering if Liberty is still G2G or if people have been having issues with them? Thanks

Wow! I never would have imagined such a thing. I've ordered 10+ scopes from him over the years.
 
His delivery times were beyond the chargeback date range offered by many credit cards. I'm right on the limit, so all I can do is hope it sticks.

Getting screwed for $2K+ is going to sting.

It's very important that each of you are looked after and will help with any order needs to get things moving in a timely manner.

Sounds like he may be working on a better discount from Vortex also. If he has 200k in orders and they wont budge on the dealer rate he could be dangling a carat for them to adjust pricing so he will pay for the shipment. Just my thoughts.

In summary:

  • Liberty Optics dissolved the LLC on 10/16.
  • The phone number listed has been disconnected.
  • The website was shut down.
  • His main thread on Snipers Hide was deleted, the mods restored it.
  • He has active orders with Vortex where he collected customer money but didn't pay Vortex. Many people are past their window to contest the charges because his "backorder" months long.

Wow this sure is a mess....
 
I read the entire thread over on SH. What a shit show, I feel bad for the guys that are getting hosed. I would like to say huge props to Vortex Optics they appear to be going above and beyond to try to help out the people that got screwed over. Nice to see a company that cares about its customers

I just want to reiterate what Rob posted here earlier.
I have been friends with the folks at Vortex for several years. They have ALWAYS been customer focused and eager to do the right thing. ALWAYS! We used their optics on our rifles (both bolt and semiautomatic) without hesitation because it was a pleasure to work with them and we were eager to support them. We could have gotten optics from other companies at no cost but we BOUGHT Vortex because they worked, kept working and had a stellar group of people behind them.
If you made a Vortex order with Liberty Optics please use the above information to contact Shamus. He is a stand-up guy and will do everything he can to help.
