CZ 527 vs 557 stock compatibility?

Quick question: Can my CZ 527 17 Hornet Varmint action fit into a CZ 557 stock?
I like the look of those stocks, and thought it might be a nice upgrade in one.

Here's my 17 Hornet and then the 557 Varmint Match Target Rifle MTR stock I'm looking at.
Don't have any idea if the actions fit the same stocks, assume probably not.

Pull the action out and try it. That way you will know if it will drop in and fit, for sure.

I don't have the other stock here, it's online. I was just hoping someone knew if the actions changed dimensions or design between the two models to tell me.

Personally I like the stock its in better anyway. No offense but the MTR stocks look a little clunky to me.

I hear ya, I thought it might shoot better off a rest, for sage rats with the flat bottom, and if I didn't like it I could just resell it.

This is correct, the 550/557 were full-length actions, whereas the 527 is a mini. You’d have to back-fill a LOT of the inletting and re-do it for it to work.

The 527 came in an MTR stock as well, FYI. Probably harder to track down (most things to do with the 527 seem to be, aside from mags and rings), but they’re out there. I have a 527MTR, and while the stock is chunky, it’s also really comfortable IMO. Not as nice as say a McM A5, but for a factory wood stock they did alright IMO.

I just got a 455 with the Manners stock. I like it pretty well so far. I also found a 17HMR barrel for it too.
