Polishing Solution

When cleaning cases in my vibrating case cleaner, I was adding a pasty solution such as Brasso which I just do not like. I can't remember what it is called. Any ideas?

I found Lyman works the best. The Franklin arsenal paste liquid clumps up and sticks to the sides of the tumbler and in the cases.

Your post reminded me of using Brasso back in the '70's to clean my cartridge collection. What a mistake. The brass turned green and upon investigating ammonia was one of the ingredients back then. I still have that can. Ammonia weakens brass.

The rcbs case polish works pretty good. It is a white powder, don't know what it actually is but since it's a dry powder there is no clumping.

Any brass treated with Brasso (or any other ammonia-based cleaner) should be discarded; ammonia makes brass brittle and could result ina catastrophic blow-out. The kind of testing that would determine if the brass is safe would be rather expensive, and would not be economical unless thousands of rounds are involved.

Any car detailing wax will get you shiny brass.
Couple cap fulls turn on for a few minutes, add brass, run for normal amount of time, wipe it off when done with a cloth, done.

I use Frankford Arsenal brass polish. I make sure to run the tumbler for 15 or so minutes when I change the walnut shells and add the polish to distribute the polish.

I can't remember what it is called.
I use two kinds. First is Meguiar's Carnauba wax, really like the smell of it.

Second was mentioned by many, Nu Finish. But I don't dispense it by using the cap to measure it out. Makes a terrible mess of the top of the container. I actually transfer it into the empty Meguiar's bottle. The top on it makes dispensing very small drops easy.

The key is to add the polish to your tumbler when it is running with no brass in it. And let it run until all the clumps are broken up. Big mistake to do it any other way I have found. The smaller the drops you add, the quicker this happens.

Just finished 6k 38 special cases 600 at a time before dumping them on top of the Dillon 750 and two squirts of Ballistol to each batch is what I've used for years, cases run smoothly and no dust, just dump in the cases and turn it on and a couple of squirts on the media (20 lbs sacks of lizard liter from Amazon) works well... I use Mother's wheel paste. Its paste but it doesn't seem to clump up and shines your brass nicely.
