Dust off your Deuce Final Results

Here are results for Deuce match. Congratulations go out to the class winners and everyone who got out to the range and got behind the .222! Such a great cartridge to enjoy shooting. Hopefully we can try it again, any ideas are welcome for the next one. The more shooters we can get to the range the more we all win. Thanks to all participants.

Congrats to all that took the challenge! A special thanks to Scott for all his time and effort, I for one owe you!

I don't know how you could have done it any better. My thoughts,,, YOU NAILED IT!

One thing is for sure you made my first attempt with this cartridge more memorable, and by the way, thanks for contributing to my weakness peaking more interest in the new project!

I really appreciate you're effort and energy to do this.
It is nice to see how my .222 shoots with others.
Shooting this and seeing other varmint rifles shoot made me break out my old Sako 222 mag. Of course I can't find my load data for that so I will have to work up some loads.
Happy there was a spot for me to shoot.
I had a lot of fun.

Thank you!!

I had a blast, literally. I just might be time to work up some new loads, these I loaded six years ago for an egg shoot(won it). I'm looking forward to another go round. I have cute little 6x45 and another 222 factory rifle that shoots well.

Thank You for putting this on.

I didn’t shoot this time, but thanks to Scott for putting in a lot of time.
I volunteered exactly one time to put on a postal match. I think it can be almost more of a chore than a club match. I mean keeping track of everything can be so much more trying because it comes in over a longe stretch, compared to a hour or so at a club match.

Probably easier today if a fellow has a spread sheet set up to take care of entries as soon as they come in.

Look forward to more chatter on the Deuce.

This was fun, thanks for setting it up. I have always wondered if I could shoot with guys that can shoot. I do all of my shooting alone and just compare my results with guys that post up on the forums. I did not do very well, but I am there in the middle of the pack. If we ever do it again, I learned a lot and think I could reduce my groups considerably.

I was so disappointed with my performance in the challenge. I took my 222 and went back and did another seating test at the same place I shot my deuce groups. Sure enough, shot another .5" 5 shot at the same seating depth, but it started tightening up as I moved further out. After seating .010" out further than I did 300 rounds ago, found a sweet spot with accuracy I was getting earlier this spring. Looks like I had about .010" throat erosion in the last 300 rounds. I realize this is a single 5 shot group, but good to know this gun is still accurate even with 90 degree temps and more wind. Now I am thinking about not touching this gun until the next competition. Na, it is too fun to shoot and have lots of critters to shoot. If we ever do a competition, I will shoot right after I find the node.
