Interesting, I see folks howling about primer prices.
Yet let’s see, I bought loaded 6CM and 220 Swift ammo at a bargain price. These were both new to me cartridges. Breaking it down for brass, powder, bullet and primer, my time was worth more than the effort of putting loads together for now. I will have brass to work with and load in the future.
I and four others bought 10k of 380,9mm, 45ACP total, all brand new components. The brass and bullets were cheaper than the best deal we could find. Granted the more we bought the cheaper it was, buy in bulk and save. One of the other fellows sold his brass and recouped even more, said he couldn’t go through drive through at McDonald’s and get a burger and drink for what several hundred rounds of ammo cost him.

I’m glad the large primers are showing up again, but don’t know if I’m going to bite for $.13 apiece. Maybe they will come down, maybe we will never see them again?

Yes that’s the ones I have been debating about, The 5,000ct to my door is $595. I guess it’s 12 cents. Maybe less painful than kicking myself.

If I were a conspiracy theorist, which I'm not, I would focus on manufacturer holdback to keep prices high. Remember the various oil embargo and gas shortages in the US with a limit on the gallons you could pump? All the while there were tankers moored offshore commifornia waiting to unload crude.

We ve all whined about primer prices for going on 3 1/2 years now… if someone, anyone, willingly participates in the high price problem by spending their $$$, then
the true selling price ( whatever it is) will take longer to reach.
I ve curtailed some of my shooting, doing other things, and stiffened my back to this gouging. Wish more guys would do the same. That ll get downward pressure on the pricing faster than anything! Even the GB scalpers and robbers trying to “flip primers” for excessive profits will quit buying (Bot or not) if they start sitting on inventory!
It’s supply and demand and each person votes with their wallet; one way or the other. Rant over ….

Well I am shooting less, but still buy components on occasion because... I need them.
Sure, I wish I would have bought a bunch 15 years ago, but I don't have crystal balls, and what hasn't gone up in price? Supply and demand, and lots of new firearms owners.

Does anyone REALY trust "targetsports"? They say they are BBB affiliated but the BBB says theyre not. Also alot of negative reviews. They do have WLR primers tho.

I’ve ordered ammo and primers from them for several years now with no problems.
They always get it out quick and tracking emailed. My last order was a case of federal gold metal primers, they were delivered two days later.

Primers are pretty available online, but scarce in the wild. They are about half price if you find them, but still have limits usually. If you looking for a specific powder like H4895, don't bother looking till it shows up online. When they make a batch it shows up everywhere about the same time. Hope we get a run of 8208 XBR soon.
Anyone out there have any success with Remington large rifle magnum primers? A few of these just hit Australia for the first time in awhile and people are just grabbing whatever they can get their hands on these days...but I don't know anyone who has previously used these primers in the F-class world.
Where are the CCI 200 or WLP primer pretty available?
I don't see those, but I just started to see winchester again and Remington. That is a good sign.
