I only tried it one time in my 6 CM. Velocity was in line with what I expected, but the cases were filthy. And I was over 3,000 fps on the higher loading so I didn't have that much room to increase powder to see if that would clean up the cases.Have anyone encountered similar results?
That does seem really slow on the speed for some reason.I’ve been loading 6.5 Creedmoor with srp brass and have been getting low velocities even at higher loads.
Peterson Brass SRP
CCI BR4
140gr SMK
Accurate 4350 (41.8gr)
Averaging 2205fps
Have anyone encountered similar results?
Will LRP brass help?
At the lower end I’m getting only getting 2000s fpsIt’s funny you mentioned this. For what it’s worth, I’m loading new srp Starline with#41’s, Accurate 4350 at 42.4 grains with a 140Nosler CC bullet. Average mv 2668, everything looked good. As usual start low and work up on powder.
So far on mine just the usual carbon on the neck.I only tried it one time in my 6 CM. Velocity was in line with what I expected, but the cases were filthy. And I was over 3,000 fps on the higher loading so I didn't have that much room to increase powder to see if that would clean up the cases.
Hodgdon reloading shows up to 43.5 on theA4350. Speer showed a max of 42.5 for the 140 grain bullets for what it’s worth. At the lower end I’m getting only getting 2000s fps
Something is definitely not right with these velocities. At the lower end I’m getting only getting 2000s fps
I am leaning more and more in agreement with this statement! You have a chrono problem.....
I have no such issues with my Peterson brass.Petterson brass is the problem, with my experience, it's just too thick. I get my best velocities with Lapua and Starline SRP brass.
AA4350 also won't get as high velocities in the 6.5 CM as H4350, RL16 or RL17 will. I've been shooting the 6.5 CM since 2009 and have tried many types of powder / brass with them.
I couldn't get within 300 fps of the velocities I get with Lapua or Starline brass with the Peterson brass before high pressure set in.I have no such issues with my Peterson brass.
I may have to do some experimenting.I couldn't get within 300 fps of the velocities I get with Lapua or Starline brass with the Peterson brass before high pressure set in.
I chrono some factory loads and chrono read what claimed on boxes wereI am leaning more and more in agreement with this statement!
