All of these post assume that the load is safe in your chamber. You should test to be sure.

With that said, like several others, I shoot Avengers and Ultras. In my rifles, 29.3 or 29.9 will get you close with the Ultras, N133, .01 into the lands with tight neck tension.

I would load some of each load and go with the one that shot best. I would start off with 29.3, and anticipate that 29.9 might shoot better as the day progressed.

I would not try the Avengers blind as they are more finicky in my opinion.

Need to add, I am no expert, but I do shoot a decent group here and there.

If it’s a rely match you could load different loads for each rely and do a little load development during the match

UPDATE.............First thanks for all the excellent advice. I truly appreciate everyone sharing.
Gun info....Bat B Kreiger barrel Bix n Andy trigger and Roy Hunter stock. Bought from
Jim O'Hara who had a load shooting in the ones. Anyway ....went to loading room this
afternoon to gather up stuff. Got sleepy and took a long nap. OH, next time. But I will

I did read it. That’s why I suggested 28.9 of N133 in post #12. These guys that are telling you to shoot 29.7 and above with an unknown combination are not providing sound advice as far as I’m concerned.

It will probably be fine, but tomorrow would be a bad time to find out otherwise.

just for the experience and see how it works. No worry about trying to win but
just have fun to try it out. Anyway, it was a great nap.

Ed Adams. Thinkin his load is way less than 28.9 Great shooter, always competitive. It works with his program. Tough to beat. Has made the World Team several times. Not for me though...

I've won score matches with a 30BR barrel that wouldn't do better than low 2's. I wouldn't try that shooting a group match with a PPC that was grouping like that. That's all I'm saying.

There is a match tomorrow and I have no ppc load. No time to test. If you were
going to load something to shoot without the ability to test, what would you load?

Hey I'm just telling you what is fact. Go ask Boyer, Jeff Peinhardt, Harley Baker or any other well known Hall of fame shooter if they would use that pooch load that you suggested and see what answer you will get. I've seen guys win matches with borrowed ammo. I say go to the match!
