Brass hardness 280AI

Is Nosler softer brass than Peterson brass for this caliber?

Thanks,

Chuck
I quit using Nosler brass for my 280AI. It was so hard I never could get the neck tension where I liked it. Even after buying an AMP annealer. It was also almost impossible to uniform the primer pockets. Had to go back to fireforming Lapua 280 brass to get things right. Next go I will give Peterson a try. I hate fire forming, although having a fireform barrel makes it much better. I wish they made 260 AI brass. I’ve shot that cartridge on deer and antelope for years and loved it.

I have worked up loads for a couple 280AI's and had very poor results with the primer pockets in Nosler brass. I fire formed some real old Remington brass and it is holding up very well. I did pick up some Peterson recently but haven't worn the Remington stuff out yet.

I will be able to report back on this at a later date. I have 100rds of Nosler Brass and 100rds of Anderson. I've shot through about 50 or so of the Nosler, have yet to size and reload though. The Anderson I have not loaded up at all yet. Both of these are on the schedule, so I'll have once fired Nosler feedback soon, and the Anderson will follow.

I’ve posted on this site numerous times regarding poor primer pockets in Nosler 280AI brass. 2 firings and I got almost zero pressure while hand priming. The Peterson is still in good shape. I actually bought a hydroform due and was about to start forming from 270 when the Peterson brass came back on the market about 6 weeks ago.
