So much for I'm done with the 6ppc,,,,

I can't count the times I say I'm done chasing my tail. Last fall I said it, and built a 222 to have fun with in local marches. Great thing is it's showing promise, but once again,,, that bug bites!

A good friend got ahold of me last week and said he got a new gun, "are you interasted in my old one? Of course as weak as I am, and thinning my collection, but how do you say no to this.

Bat SB octagon jewel on a Scoville Stock this time and another Dwight Scott build with a Krieger 6ppc at around 450 rounds.. I was making headway saying no, till I seen it was blue. So it followed me home. I threw a 15-55 NF on it for now. Since our second match of the year is Sunday and my 42x44 NF is on the 222 Panda ready for Sunday.

Next week the B&L 36x Trophy will go back on the 222 and this new Bat will get the 42x44.

I have always admitted I have a sickness that has no cure. I just seem to find out about every 6 months, it's worse than I thought, and obviously still getting worse! It's sure great to have friends, and I seem to have the best!

Nice...love that blue

Something like that, one thing is for sure, old habits are hard to break. Then when your weak, and they spring that on you, and the blue Carbon Fiber is the first thing I see, with a dual port Bat sitting in it,,, well I'm in!

The SB action was not a first choice, and being a RBRPRE isn't the way I would order it. But not being a fast shooter to begin with. I can live with it.

But man it sure is a looker over the Black Scarburough, Melanie DS without flutes. Hopefully Dwight shared his same love with this one he did with the one I sold, it was a shooter, and I know this one will be too.

I will shoot some Matchrs later this year with it, but I'm having a lot of fun with the new, old school Panda in the graphite McMilan in 222 right now, it's been a thorn in a few 6ppc shooters side,,,,

It was to good a deal to say no, besides them guns are a hell of a lot cheaper than raising kids! Amazing how your priorities change when them kids leave home!

I get this duesh figured out I'll get to work with this one and you'll be at the top of my list to let know how bad I can screw it up,,,, ;)

Thanks for the comments on the rifle. IT is a proven shooter, but has had its better days with this barrel. Still competitive so it will be on me to run it.

Problem right now is I gotta get some powder. Shooters are starting to have a little success using other powders that are not as condition sensitive as N133 is.

Benchrest has always been a shooting sport that is constantly requiring new changes to keep competative. Besides I need to be able to pre-load with my arthritis cleaning loading and cleaning and resetting bench equipment every relay is more than I care to try and keep up with. Somedays I have no choice, it's just not doable in that time frame.

So I think LT-32 is on the list for some new load devopment as well as trying some Benchmark. But new gun, new techniques, new components only mean one thing,,,, New Fun!

Not sure what part of the country you are in but I have found that LT-32 works well in low humidity, if it’s humid n-133 better choice, imho

It realy isn't a matter of what part of the country, over the years the Benchrest community I've shot with from all over the country have largely relied on 133 for the most part. But options change.

At one point in my BR history, every single shooter neck sized only, I doubt anyone today does.

There was a time everyone threw their loads, and believed even to the point some of our most successful shooter swore if you had to worry about a slight variance from throwing charge to charge,, you didn't have a very good load to begin with. Today those same shooters know to be successful they have to wiegh to the extreme to win.

BR has always been a game of New change, and a breading ground for new components tools and techniques.

I know that someday, just as the 222 was dethroned, so will 133, as well as anything else. Change is imrnent, it will eventually happen.

I shoot a lot of local matches, and not one shooter loads at the range. If they did, I understand to compete one needs to as well. But for those matches for sure, a less finicky powder could be more productive in a preload situation. At least in those circumstances it should be investigated. At least to me this would be the place to experiment and have the most likely chance of making it work.

FWIW ..... our mutual friend is storing a can of Benchmark and a can of LT-32 for me.

I only took a very few shots outta each can, when I was establishing upper charge limits for various ( bench rest ) powders; when I was doing accuracy load work w/ my Marlin M336XLR .35 Remington.

While each can is a couple years old, you are welcome to try them out; if that helps any ?
Pretty sure he isn't using them, at all.
