6.5 100 yd group .315 5 shots

It's not a better answer nor opinion, just fact......

Berger 105 Hunting VLD's pointed give about a half percent better BC over stock.

28" Krieger fueled by Varget started by Federal 205 M's shot over an Oehler 33.

Bat M in a McMillan with a 12x42 Nightforce on top.

My 600/1K Br rifle.......
so today i began group testing with the new powder .
the 3040 load shot 0.022...opps

ok this am i shot 5 three shot groups. when i plotted the ladder, it was pretty much a straight line, no plateaus..so i just picked the 4 top load plus one at .2 gr over 100% fill.
mild left right wind
39.3 0.729
39.6 0.536
39.9 0.230
40.2 0.022
40.4 2.05
so i cannot tell a lie .0.022 is a 2 shot group...operator error put the first shot on the wrong point of aim
so 39.9 and 40.2 will get retested, and some seating depth tests

My 600/1K Br rifle.......
and what fixed temp do you shoot this at ??and how many wins has this combo produced ? start with nationals and work your way down

My 1st response was to your initial load at 2880 as better than a dasher in the wind at 600.

Now you want to get into a dick measuring contest.

I'll pass, thanks......
no i said the rifle and cartridge were designed to beat the dasher in mild winds..i never siad the 2880 was THE ANSWER...you just jumped in with both feet.
i was at the last 2 years 1k nationals, were you there ??
so unless you go to the nationals or come west we will never shoot against each other..
and so no you have not beat me...numbers on a computer to not count..match results count

so i tried testing rl17 today BUT went back to my original light neck tension..and it appears to have been a mistake..out of seven groups from touch to 15 off and 39.9/40.2...only one group is worth measuring. will reshoot with the heavier (.0025) neck tension.

so finally got a chance to reshoot the 17 with the original neck tension.
what a waste of time and money
not sure what to try next

so today i did a primer test with the 2 best loads so far
( not the best test plan but a "look")
rl17 at 39.9 at touch 285 bushing
205m over 1"
br4 over 1.5"
tula 556mag .78
rem 7.5 just over 1"

rl15.5 37 .011 off touch
fed205m .406( 2 in one hole..dang)
br4 .241
tula 556m .269
plan is to make some new brass and test the good points
later

and today i picked up the bbl action for the real rifle. well sort of, it has a temp bbl because the planned bbl has a total lead time of 14 month with about 9 to go.so i will work with the new action/bbl as soon as i get it bedded..ohh and inleted to a used stock..this will be a while.
