"built as a better than a dasher in the wind at 600"
but my 600 yd range lost its road and no idea when i may shoot 600 again,

Are we pretending this hasn’t been done by other 6.5s, even the one everyone loves to hate?

my first 6.5 since 6.5x55swede.
bigger than a dasher smaller than a 6.5x47.
just to be different
the only competitive 6.5 i have seen in BENCHREST is the 6.5x47

I think it’s cool to try new ideas. I especially like the long barrel you’re running; I expect you’re extracting the full energy available from nearly every grain of powder.

well so far no luck at getting smaller.
may change powder
started a fire storm when i asked a simple question about neck tension for jamming.
just bought 3 new bushings
more work to do

so today, in an effort to find smaller with the same powder i went to JAM vs jump.
4 three shot groups at 0, plus .005,.010 and .015. the only change was to use a 1 thou smaller
neck bushing. no other changes
2 of the 4 groups went 2 and 1 with the 1 wrecking the group.
not in order but .276,.297,.304 and .405
the bolt cycled harder, but the velocities remained the same
not impressed going to try a different powder.
( 276 is nearly .04 better than the .315,BUT my first 1k rifle shot .315 at 200...so i got goals)

so moving on, RELOADER 17. i was not impressed with this powder in a 300 wsm. quickload shows potential in this bullet/powder volume mix
today was a simple ladder( education time, this was 10 single shots, not 10 3 shot GROUPS)
38.1 2865
38.4 2893
38.7 2901
39.0 2923
39.3 2971
39.6 2987
39.9 3021
40.2 3040 100% CASE FILL normal bolt feeling
40.6 3074 101% case fill firm bolt
41.0 3118 102% case fill very firm bolt
pretty sure i will skip the last 2, but if the next top 3 show any potential in group, i will have an advantage on a dasher.
i will plot vel/powder and see if it show any nodes

I shoot pointed 105's with a BC of .580 at 3080.......

maybe you can share the make and data, vs opinion
i knew when i posted that you would come back with a "better" answer
It's not a better answer nor opinion, just fact......

Berger 105 Hunting VLD's pointed give about a half percent better BC over stock.

28" Krieger fueled by Varget started by Federal 205 M's shot over an Oehler 33.

Bat M in a McMillan with a 12x42 Nightforce on top.

My 600/1K Br rifle.......
