Vudoo V22 Breakin

I like 20 but you might test 19 and 21 too. I like it because the couple of groups on both sides of 20 did exactly what I look for them to do...vertical, then to diagonal. The 10 shot groups at the bottom aren't bad but show what could well be wind picking up toward the end of the test. I wasn't there, so no way to know except to say if they had gone up and to the right from a rh twist bbl, you could rule wind out, but they didn't. I'd also go back and test 13 14 and 15. I'm off here mostly until at least Sunday but good shooting!
Thanks. I only had one flag out butt did not see a change. I have more shooting to do!

Here is something that might be of interest. this rifle I have no doubt it is tuned. 50 shots at 100yds. this lot of CX was the first time it was shot in this rifle. this is the same rifle I posted targets at 100yds. in post #67
a quarter is .955 in diameter the 3 shots not touching the group was from a change in the condition.

It can indeed be challenging to account for changes in conditions over 100 yards.
How good is tuned at 100 yards? What should I expect and look for?

Below are some results obtained last month with a factory-barreled rifle. It's also 50 at 100, but it's not quite as good as Lee's CX results above.

While there are a few more holes not touching the quarter, perhaps as many as six, all but two are very close. Not counting the two obviously errant shots, the outside dimensions of the group is 1.34".

In this case I'm thinking the two errant shots are ammo-related rather than conditions.

Ok guys. Been busy with other things so I have not shot the Vudoo since August 2022. After reading several post regarding what ammo works best, I could not resist pulling it out and giving it a ride.

I had the tuner at on 22 last so I started there. Shot two ten shot groups right at 1 inch. Nothing special so I decided to start adjusting in. Next group shot at 21. About the same 1 inch. Next moved the tuner to 20. Nice .6 group. Maybe luck? Shot another group at 20 to see if it held up. This one got smaller around .4.

This is the lot of ammo from the test center. It is showing promise. 4099D858-8FD9-4E9A-A560-1C9636B40F07.jpeg

I'm assuming that was 100 yds? I like that the 20 setting groups are both a higher POI.
Curious to see what 19 looks like.

Had time to shoot the Vudoo this afternoon. Still playing with different tuner settings. My last outing the gun was shooting decent at 22 so I started there after shooting 10 foulers skmce I cleaned the barrel.

All ten shot groups at 100 yards. The first group at the 22 setting was under 1/2 inch-.47. I moved up to 23 and it went vertical so I decided to go down to 20 since the gun usually shoots well on that setting. The 20 setting gave me a nice .38 ten shot group. I moved down to 19 setting and the groups went vertical again. I went back to the 20 setting and shot 3 ten shot groups- .59, .76 and .81.

Time was running out so I decided to step down setting 2 steps per group. The 18 setting gave me a .9 group. 16 setting a .72 group; 14 setting a 1.04 group and 12 setting gave me the smallest group of the day, .359.

I am using Center X ammo that I ordered after send the actin to the test center. I am shooting outside with flags.

For those interested,I have attached a copy of my test center results at 100 with this ammo. They shot with the tuner set at zero.

It seems as though the more I shoot the gun, the better it shoots.

Talking to @shoot4fun today and realized I have not shot the Vudoo in months so I pulled it out after shooting a few left over 30br rounds. I was ailing at the corners of my .30 cal target.

10-15 mph winds with gust 20+. I loaded my 4 mags and figured I would shoot as fast as I could.

4 10 shot groups at 100 agged .876. Maybe the wind helped me out some.
