Henderson Trimmer

Years ago I modified my Redding manual lathe to take a Forester 3-way head, and it was much better than the standard cutter.

A couple years ago I decided to get a Henderson and I was trying to find a used one...which I found out was hard to come by.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a new one, I forget which generation it is, but I've used it on a couple thousand cases in 6XC and 6BRA and it is soooo good.

Good Luck,
Ross

I love my henderson, but if you are running more than 2 thou of interference fit you will likely get some contact with the pilot.

i take extra care when aligning my cases on the collet, i kinda do a prealignment step, it takes longer but i rarely get even just a little contact this way. sure as HECK beats doing it the old way by hand.

with some creativity with delrin or something else, there is probably a way around the neck contact issue.

As sigma said, if you are running a tighter neck you will contact the pilot. I cured this by chucking the pilot up in my drill and polishing with 400 grit sandpaper, then polished it to a mirror shine with polishing compound. Take it slow and check with your case until you get the clearance you need. I too dislike anything rubbing the inside of my case neck, but when we neck turn brass the mandrel is rubbing the inside of the case neck. I know it’s not apples to apples comparison, but that’s how I calmed my OCD when I started using the unit.

Otherwise I think it’s a great machine, I have been using it for over a year now. It’s saved me a lot of time.

I love mine. Much better, more consistent and faster than my Giraud was.

I even did a batch of 500 454 Casull cases and 500 more 41 Mag the other day, just because I could. It took about 2 hours total to include adjusting the cutters and getting the length set. Now I have revo brass that is within 0.001 and perfectly chamfered and deburred. Perfect crimps coming...
