6mm Hammer?

A gunsmith of Bart's came up with the idea a few years ago. Using a standard PTG 6 Dasher reamer and holding it short. Bart gave me a few of both his fired and resized cases. I sent them off to JGS and they used their optical comparator to make me a reamer and actual headspace gauge. The cartridge is essentially a short Dasher, with the shoulder pushed forward .028" from a 6 BRA length, instead of the Dasher's .100". A Dasher Jr. if you will. I had JGS list the reamer as Public, so anyone can order it.

I hope this clears things up some.

Basically it was a happy accident. That’s just the way the chamber came out (the way Dean had to cut it). It worked great so, no reason to change it.
