What is the reamer name?A gunsmith of Bart's came up with the idea a few years ago. Using a standard PTG 6 Dasher reamer and holding it short. Bart gave me a few of both his fired and resized cases. I sent them off to JGS and they used their optical comparator to make me a reamer and actual headspace gauge. The cartridge is essentially a short Dasher, with the shoulder pushed forward .028" from a 6 BRA length, instead of the Dasher's .100". A Dasher Jr. if you will. I had JGS list the reamer as Public, so anyone can order it.
I hope this clears things up some.

Yea, not only is the Hammer looking good, it looks like DQ Gunworks is also showing STRONG!Steve Wilson answered correctly. The 6MM Hammer was fairly prevalent at the 600 yard match at Memphis.

Basically it was a happy accident. That’s just the way the chamber came out (the way Dean had to cut it). It worked great so, no reason to change it.Can you give some more insight into the 6 Hammer vs the 6BRA. What was the reasoning and benefits? Does moving the shoulder forward get you into the next node.
I was just talking to a guy that is doing something similar, so this has peaked my curiosity.

yeah but what about base dia ??Can you just use a 6BRA reamer and ream forward another .028?
I’d recommend just getting the 6MMHAMMER reamer. Steve did not make it proprietary. It’s there for who ever would like to try it.Can you just use a 6BRA reamer and ream forward another .028?
