Hey everyone,
I am going to do my best to keep all of our friends back home up to date here. There is plenty of work for us to do, including meetings and banquets, but I will do my best to give you day to day updates.
Today is Monday the 20th here in Bloemfontein. Almost 8am.
We made it here as a combined USA team. Most of F open and T/R met in Atlanta, and prepared for our 15 hrs flight to Johannesburg. I was relatively shocked at just how well behaved everyone was. Imagine 40+ f class shooters sleep deprived having a few cocktails while all trapped inside an aluminum tube. I was proud.
We arrived and walked rifles through customs quickly and without issues. Walked across the street to a hotel and slept. Bussed down to Bloemfontein in the morning, got set up in our rather nice hotel, everyone that needed rental cars was taken care of. Had a few drinks with some of our South African friends and here we are in the am.
Plan today is to try to retrieve ammo from the range. There is a scheduled protest today, not quite sure how that is going to affect our plans, but we are flexible. Today is a day off other than attempting to get ammo and maybe establish 100 yard zeros. Tomorrow is a 700m practice day, then individual shooting at the South African nationals begins.
I will keep this thread as up to date as I can, and we would like to thank everyone as well as our sponsors for all of the phone calls and texts wishing us the best over here.
